iii. Installation procedures
For fi tting and start up on tyre changers, proceed as
follows:
BEFORE STARTING OPERATIONS, DISCONNECT
THE ELECTRICITY AND COMPRESSED AIR
SUPPLIES AND EMPTY ANY REMAINING AIR FROM
THE TYRE CHANGER CIRCUIT.
ENSURE THAT THE MACHINE ON WHICH THE
DEVICE IS TO BE FITTED IS FIXED TO THE FLOOR
AS INDICATED IN USER MANUAL.
MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO OBSTACLES IN
THE AREA AROUND THE DEVICE, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE INFORMATION IN SECTION ii, FIGURE ii-2.
CHECK THAT NONE OF THE TYRE CHANGER
ACCESSORIES (E.G.: LUBRICANT CONTAINERS,
I N F L AT I N G U N I T ) C A N I N T E R F E R E W I T H
THE DEVICE DURING ITS OPERATION OR
INSTALLATION.
Disconnect the tyre changer from the electricity and
•
compressed air supplies.
Fixing elements and procedures vary depending on
the tyre changer and its production period.
Identify the type of tyre changer casing (A, B, C, D):
Type A casing (high casing, standard beam)

On tyre changers with standard casing;
- In the presence of a "Beam without integrated
support" (1 fi gure iii-1), place the 8 mm thick plate (a
fi gure iii-1) between the beam and the device.
- In the presence of a "Beam with integrated supporting
base" (2 fi gure iii-1), mount the device directly on the
bead breaker beam.
Type B casing (high casing, with extended wheel
support)

For 22" tyre changers, always mount the device
directly on the bead breaker beam.
Type C casing (high casing, sloping beam)

In 26" tyre changers, use the removable supporting
base (1 fi gure iii-2), included in the tyre changer kit,
as a spacer between the device and the bead breaker
arm beam.
• Fix the base (1) on the bead breaker beam using the
cheese-headed screws, in the holes a (fi t from above)
& b (fi t from below) fi gure iii-2.
