5. Before starting the equipment
5.1 Fitting the safety hood
Plug the safety guard (10) on to the long handle
(9) (Fig. 3).
Slide the safety guard in the direction of the
cutting head (Fig. 3).
Tighten the screw (A) and the nut (B) to secure
the safety guard. This is done with the supplied
Allen key (Fig. 4).
5.2 Fitting the handle
Plug the handle (6) on to the long handle (9) (Fig.
5).
Then secure with the screw and fixing button (7)
(Fig. 6).
5.3 Fitting the carrying strap
Fasten the hook of the carrying strap (8) to the clip (A)
(Fig. 7).
6. Operation
The electric scythe is designed only to cut grass.
The tool has a semi-automatic line extension system.
Each time you activate the semi-automatic line
extension system, the line is automatically extended
to ensure that you can cut your lawn with the perfect
cutting width at all times. You can activate the line
extension system with a short tap of the machine
against the ground.
Please note that the more often you activate the semi-
automatic line extension system, the more the line will
wear.
Note: If the line is too long when you use the
equipment for the first time, the surplus end of it will
be cut by the blade on the guard hood.
If the line is too short when you start the machine for
the first time, press the knob on the line spool and pull
the line hard. When you start the equipment again the
line will be cut to the perfect length automatically.

Your grass trimmer will work at its best if you
observe the following instructions:
Never use the grass trimmer without its safety
devices.
Do not cut grass when it is wet. The best results
are had on dry grass.
Connect the power cable to an extension cable
and hook the extension cable on the handle
(Figure 9).
To switch on your grass trimmer press the safety
lock-off (Figure 1 Item 3) and then press the
ON/OFF switch (Figure 1 Item 3).
To deactivate the grass trimmer, let go of the
On/Off switch (Figure 1 / Item 3).
Do not move the grass trimmer against the grass
until the switch is pressed, i.e. wait until the
trimmer is running.
For the correct cutting action, swing the grass
trimmer to the side as you walk forward, holding
it at an angle of approx. 30° as you do so (see
Figure 10 and Figure 11).
Make several passes to cut long grass shorter
step by step from the top (see Figure 12).
Make full use of the edge guide and the guide
hood in order to avoid unnecessary line wear
(see Figure 12).
Keep the grass trimmer away from hard objects
in order to avoid unnecessary line wear.
Using the grass trimmer as an edge trimmer
To cut he edges of lawns and flower beds, the grass
trimmer can be converted as follows:
Switch off the power supply of the grass trimmer.
Release the lock (6) completely and turn the top
handle (2) 180° to the right.
Retighten the lock (6).
Now you have converted the grass trimmer to an
edge trimmer, for cutting the lawn vertically (Fig.
13).
Please note
Maximum speed is reached approx. 1 to 2 seconds
after activating the ON/OFF switch.
The motor speed may fluctuate during operation.
This is because the tool comes with a speed
adjustment feature which takes account of changing
loads during operation.
