5 Commissioning
5.1 Before commissioning
Before commissioning / Initial commissioning
Delivery, or instructions on safety regulations, handling and maintenance, in addition to initial commissioning, are normally undertaken by an appro-
ved expert. If this is not the case, the operating company is responsible for instructing the operator.
Items of jewellery, such as rings and chains, must be removed.
5.2 During operation
When machine is stopped, the brush set must be switched off immediately to prevent any damage to floor coverings.
Attach brushes, pads and other accessories only as directed by the illustrated operating manual.
Machine and parts in motion
Travelling motion and area in vicinity of rotating brushes/pads pose a risk of injury.
Do not grasp brush/pads or wheels with your hands or place your feet in this zone.
Do allow machine to come into contact with items of clothing, jewellery or hair.
6 SAFETY INFORMATION FOR BATTERY-OPERATED CLEANING MACHINES
Batteries contain corrosive sulphuric acid. Not to be taken internally! Avoid contact with skin and eyes without fail.
During wet-cell charging, the battery compartment must be open without fail, otherwise there is a danger of explosion by electrolytic gas. A danger
of serious injury exists.
Use only a suitable charging appliance for charging maintenance-free and wet-cell batteries.
Do not have a naked flame or glowing objects near batteries.
Do not generate sparks near batteries.
Strictly no smoking.
Do not open maintenance-free batteries. Do not top up with distilled water.
Never touch the battery terminals with your hand or hands.
The contacts must be covered to prevent short circuiting by metal jumpers (e.g. hybrid connections).
For cleaning and maintenance, or when changing accessories and spares, always isolate the machine from the battery by detaching the battery-
charging plug.
The machine must not be cleaned using high-pressure or steam cleaners or liquid sprays.
With machines fi tted with an on-board battery charger, do not modify the 230V lines! In particular, do not remove or open any electrical
terminals or remove the earth cable. Do not operate appliances with damaged cables!
Preventing total discharge of batteries
Before periods of prolonged non-use, the battery must be fully charged to protect it from total discharge, and thereafter the electrical components from
the battery must be isolated by pulling the charging plug from the battery. Discharges of more than 80% of the nominal capacity, i.e. when the battery
charge is 20% or less, are regarded as total discharges. The outcome is a shortened battery life or complete destruction of the battery. Claims under
guarantee involving flat batteries or destruction can therefore not be validated.
7 MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
Our products have been inspected for safety at the factory. To ensure their operational safety and to maintain their value, a service must be
carried out once every twelve months or after 400 hours of operation. Service may only be performed by our service department or by appro-
ved experts.
8 TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
When transporting and storing, the temperature must not exceed 50°C. At temperatures below 0°C, the water system must be enriched with anti-freeze.
When machine is transported, it must be properly packed and secured. If the machine is stored, the fresh water and dirty water must be emptied and the
tank cleaned.
9 CORRECT DISPOSAL
Packaging, unused cleaning agents and dirty water must be disposed of in accordance with regulations in force at national level.
Return batteries unopened to the manufacturer for professional disposal.
The machine must be disposed of after decommissioning in accordance with regulations in force at national level.
