1. General information
In general, nitrogen losses on HYDAC
hydropneumatic accumulators are very low.
However, a regular check of the pre‑charge
pressure is recommended to prevent the piston
from hitting the end cap, or the bladder or
diaphragm from becoming too deformed, if
there is a drop in the pre‑charge pressure (p
HYDAC filling and testing equipment is
designed to charge hydraulic accumulators and
to check the nitrogen pre‑charge pressure.
The HYDAC filling and testing units,
hereinafter, also referred to as FPU, may only
be used as intended
The FPU can be used both with conventional
nitrogen bottles (200/300 bar) and with a
pressure boosting system (design can vary,
observe manufacturer's instructions).
The max. operating pressures of the FPU must
be observed:
FPU‑1: 350 bar
FPU‑2: 800 bar
EN
The permitted operating temperature of the
FPU is ‑10 °C ... +80 °C.
The pressure reducing valve that is to be used
for filling/refilling is designed for a permitted
operating temperature of ‑20 °C ... +60 °C.
NOTICE
All work with HYDAC charging and testing
unit must only be carried out by suitably
trained staff.
Incorrect installation or handling can lead to
serious accidents.
Safety precautions according to section 4.2
must be observed.
Only use nitrogen to charge the
accumulator.
Never use oxygen or compressed
air! RISK OF EXPLOSION!

The applicable operating instructions of the
connected hydraulic accumulators must be
observed!
