• Prohibited: manipulation, inappropriate
use, temporary repairs, use of other ener-
gy sources, removal or use of damaged
safety equipment, operating a leaking or
malfunctioning system, use of non-original
spare parts, exceeding the permitted
working pressure specified (max. + 10%),
working without protective equipment,
transporting / maintaining / repairing or
leaving a pressurised machine unattended,
using other / unsuitable lubricants, smok-
ing, naked flames, removing stickers.

Commissioning
Before start-up:
1. Observe technical data, figures, item
numbers, intended use and safety in-
structions
(see Instruction manual, Part 1, Chap-
ter: "Technical data" and the "Intended
use" chapter).
2. Carry out a visual inspection.
3. Do not use below 5° C.
Before starting the unit or replacing
rivets, check that a rivet pin is not
stuck in the fitted carrier piece on the
riveting tongs,
remove if necessary!
The accompanying carrier piece is suit-
able for 2.4, 3.2, 4.0 and 4.8 mm rivets:
1. Select a carrier piece (item 04) that cor-
responds to the rivet size.
2. Connect the riveting tongs to the com-
pressed air supply.
3. Pull and hold the trigger (item 02), then
screw the carrier piece (item 04)
into the head piece (item 03).

Compressed air connection:
1. Install an upstream maintenance unit
with filter pressure reducer and mist oil-
er.
2. Press the quick-action coupling of the air
hose onto the plug nipple (item 01)
(Figure 1a).
Operation:
1. Select a suitable rivet and insert the rivet
pin in the carrier piece (item 04) (Fig.
4a).
2. Push the rivet in the carrier piece into the
hole on the components you wish to join.
3. Pull the trigger lever (item 02) to actuate
the riveting tongs.
4. Release the trigger lever (item 02) and
collect the sheared rivet pin in the safety
cover (item 14).
Empty the
safety
cover
(item 14):
1. Slacken the cover nut (item 06) on the
depressurised device (Fig. 4b).
2. Remove the safety cover (item 14) and
empty.
3. Place the safety cover back into position
and tighten the cover nut by hand.
Adjust the claw housing:
1. Connect the device to the compressed
air supply (see Chapter Commissioning:
"Compressed air connection").
2. Pull the trigger lever (item 02) and hold.
3. Unscrew the head piece (item 03) using
assembly key (Fig. 3a)
4. Release the trigger lever (item 02) and
depressurise the device.
5. Check the position of the claw housing
using the assembly key (Fig. 3b).
6. Slacken the counternut (item 08) (see
Figs 3b-3c) to set the correct clearance
(Fig. 3d).
7. Tighten the counternut again.
8. Assemble in reverse order.
After use:
1. Disconnect the quick-action coupling
from
the
plug
(Figure 1b).
2. Clean and store the device in dry condi-
tion
when
necessary
