5. Inserting the SIM card
− If you want to receive the photos on your mobile phone by MMS:
Purchase and activate a SIM card from your mobile phone network operator. A SIM card with
unlimited SMS/MMS is recommended to minimize costs.
− If you want to receive the photos in your electronic mailbox by email:
Select a SIM card that supports data (SMTP or SSL SMTP) if you want to receive images from
the camera via email.
WARNING: Make sure the camera power switch is in the OFF position before inserting
or removing the SIM card.
You have to remove the PIN code from the SIM card before inserting it in the device.
Insert the SIM card into the card slot with the chip facing up. A "click" sound indicates that the
card is installed successfully.
There are two SIM card icons which stand for different installation situations:
− SIM indicates the SIM card is inserted and works well.
− SIM
indicates there is no SIM card inserted or the MMS/GPRS function can't work
correctly because of loss of signal or other communication issues.
To take out the SIM card, just gently push in the card (do not try to pull it out without pushing in
first). The card is released from the slot and ready to be removed when you hear the "click"
sound.
When going into the TEST mode, allow a few tens of seconds for the camera to acquire the
signal. A wireless signal strength indicator appear on the LCD screen when a connection has
been established.
6. Attaching the antenna
Screw the threaded base of the antenna onto the socket at the top of the camera. Make sure it
is securely attached, but do not over-tighten it.
7. Using the camera
The camera has three operational modes:
4. OFF mode: power switch is in the OFF position
5. ON mode: power switch is in ON position (LCD screen is off)
6. TEST (setup) mode: power switch is in TEST position (LCD screen is on)
7.1.
OFF mode
The OFF mode is the "safe mode" when any actions must be taken, e.g., replacing the SD card
or batteries, or transporting the camera.
You will also use the OFF mode if you connect the camera to a computer's USB port later to
download your photos/videos.
Slide power switch to the OFF position to turn off the camera. Please note that even in OFF
mode, the camera still consumes power at a very low level. Therefore, please remove the
batteries if the camera will not be used for a long time.
