The user is not entitled to tamper with the
sealed components of the machine.
Any jobs or adjustments affecting
components of the gas system need to be
done by a qualified and licensed technician.
Removing or altering machine seals
invalidates the guarantee of the appliance.
7.17 INFORMATION ON SPECIAL
MEASURES FOR USE AND
PROTECTION
During the first hours of use remember
that:
The correct angle between the operator's
arm and forearm at work is 90°.
If the operator is very short, a platform
should enable the above-mentioned working
position. Conversely, if the operator is very
tall, install the appliance on a suitable
platform. A correct working position allows
a higher productivity and better ironing
results.
7.18 ORDINARY MAINTENANCE BY
THE USER
BEFORE CARRYING OUT ANY
MAINTENANCE , MAKE SURE THAT
THE MASTER DISCONNECTION
SWITCH ON THE WALL AND THE
DISCONECTION SWITCH ON THE
APPLIANCE ARE OFF.
The appliance does not require any
particular care thanks to its ergonomic
design and to its being manufactured with
very reliable, high-quality parts.
During cleaning and maintenance do not
stick tools or hands into the moving parts of
the machine (motor, chain etc.). The
manufacturer disclaims responsibility for
any personal injury or property damage
resulting from using, cleaning or
maintaining the machine. Regularly clean
the machine outer panels with a damp cloth.
Never use flammable or abrasive products.
DO NOT USE WATER JETS TO CLEAN
THE APPLIANCE.
Every 100 operating hours, apply antistatic
wax onto the inner surface of the press basin
in order to allow the fabrics to slide through
more easily and to keep the press clean. To
apply wax follow the instructions provided
by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Failure to meet this requirement will cause
an extra effort to the drive motor over time.
This will become apparent when the linen
feeding and the roller rotation become more
difficult. In the severest cases this could
cause the blocl of the roller when the pedal
is pressed. When this happens, alarm 2
trips, which indicates drive motor overload.
The company disclaims liability for any
damage resulting from failure to meet this
requirement.
Every 500 hours of operation, grease the
roller driving chain and feeder using specific
chain grease: To perform this maintenance
job, disconnect the ironer from the mains
using the master switch and the
disconnection switch on board the machine.
Then open the door on the left side using the
supplied key and grease the mechanical part
in question.
Then put all panels removed back in place
and switch the ironer on.
Regularly (every 1000 hours of operation)
clean the steam-extracting system that the
machine is equipped with; to do this, put the
wall and built-in disconnection switches off
and remove the panel on the right side. Then
take the silicone tube off after having
loosened the clamps that lock it in place and
clean it using a cloth and a vacuum-cleaner.
By the use of a screwdriver remove the
screws fastening the tube to the scroll of the
extracting fan and clean the fan blade by the
use of a powerful vacuum-cleaner.
PRIOR TO TURNING ON THE
DISCONNECTION SWITCH ON THE
WALL, FIT ALL THE PANELS BACK IN
PLACE.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR
MAINTAINERS AND
REPAIRERS
8. EXTRAORDINARY
MAINTENANCE AND PROVISION
OF SPARE PARTS
8.1. TROUBLE-SHOOTING
INSTRUCTIONS
a) The machine will not heat or it will heat
poorly:
Model with electric heating
Make sure that power input is uniform in all
three phase leads and then check fuse
efficiency. Ensure that the two temperature
probes are fastened properly and that the
contactors are in good working order.
Also check that the heating contactors are
not inhibited by the tripping of the safety
thermostat.
Ensure that the hearing elements are in
good working order.
Steam-heated models
Verify that the steam incoming pressure is
12 bar (174psi) at the machine's entry:
check hourly output of the boiler: this output
must meet the steam demand of the machine
(cfr. technical details).
Ensure that there are no leaks in the steam
heating circuit.
Ensure that there are no build-ups or scale
because of poor quality steam from the
boiler.
Ensure that the condensate trap is in good
working order.
Gas-heated machines
Ensure that the gas type and pressure suit
the machine version.
If the machine has been connected up to the
gas line or it has been inoperative for long,
it may be necessary to bleed the air from the
gas leading line.
31
The gas valve is shut.
The temperature probe is broken.
The flue pipe is blocked.
The machine reads alarm 6: it will be
necessary to reset the ignition unit using the
push-button at the back of the machine.
The ignition unit probe is broken-down.
The ignition/flame control electrodes need
to be replaced.
b) The machine will heat too much
In this case too, ensure that the temperature
probe/s are fastened properly. They must be
perfectly flush with the metal press basin
inside the probe seat.
Ensure that the ventilation slits on the upper
guard are clean.
Make sure that the distance between the
machine and the walls is correct and that it
enables correct ventilation.
Check the probes for damage, interruption
or short-circuit.
Ensure that all the heating elements are in
good working order.
Ensure that the two temperature probes
have not been misconnected on the board.
Check that the gas pressure that the machine
is fed with is correct with reference to burner
instructions.
c) The press basin does not move away
from the roller
Remove rear panels and check the condition
of the press recoil springs in idle position.
Ensure that the pressure in the hydraulic
circuit is zero. Then check that the bearings
on the thrust assembly are in good working
condition; ensure that the closing pin at the
electrical valve operates correctly.
d) The press basin does not pressurize on
the roller
Remove the left-hand panel and check for
the following items in this order:
-
Inverted supply phase leads
-
Poor oil level (oil must reach the viewer
when the machine is off)
-
Broken oil conveying tube
-
Broken cylinder and oil leaks
-
Broken pressure transducer
-
Jammed pump pin
-
Disenergised closing electrical valve
-
Disenergised unit motor
e) The machine is very noisy
In this case one of the three supply phase
leads is surely cut-off. This causes the motor
cutout switches to trip suddenly.
automatic disconnection switch on the wall
may be faulty. Otherwise one of the three
fuses on the built-in disconnection switch
may be blown. Work out the source problem
and replace the disconnection switch or the
blown fuse accordingly.
Disconnect the machine from the power
mains, ensure that the electric motor is in
good working condition. If the fault persists,
check the continuity of the electric system in
the relevant motor.
