cool down, before you recharge the rechargeable
battery, in order to achieve the full charging capacity.
• If you want to charge two rechargeable batteries one
after the other, unplug the charger from the electrical
outlet and wait for 15 minutes before starting the next
charging process.
• Always disconnect the charger from the power source
if you are not using it.
WARNING: Low capacity
If the rechargeable battery is charged at less than
10%, it must be recharged. As opposed to other types
of batteries, lithium-ion rechargeable batteries provide
a uniform capacity over their entire service life. While
you are working the capacity of the battery is slowly
and uniformly reduced. If the rechargeable battery has
reached the end of its runtime, the power of the device
quickly drops off to signal that the rechargeable battery
must be recharged.
Battery protection
An electronic circuit protects the rechargeable battery
from extreme temperatures, deep discharge and over-
load. To protect the rechargeable battery from damage
and to extend its service life, the circuit switches the
rechargeable battery off as soon as overload occurs
or if the temperature increases excessively during use.
This can occur in situations with extremely high rpm,
or if the cutting tool is blocked. This intelligent system
switches your rechargeable battery off when the operat-
ing temperature of the battery set increases over 80°C
and it resumes normal operation when the temperature
again drops below 80°. The rechargeable battery can
be recharged when the outside temperature is between
0 and 40°C.
Obtaining the best possible service life of the re-
chargeable battery
Never allow the device to come to a complete standstill
before recharging. The rechargeable battery should
always be inserted in the changer when the power is
noticeably reduced, or if the machine can no longer
perform a task that it could perform before.
Avoid short charging processes. Ensure that the re-
chargeable battery is completely charged at each charg-
ing process, by checking that the charging station has
concluded the entire charge cycle.
Avoid storing the rechargeable battery together with
loose objects, such as screws, or nails, because these
objects or other objects can cause a short circuit, fire or
explosion.
Always disconnect the charger from the power source, if
you are not using it and store it in a dry and safe location.
Avoid using, charging, or storing your rechargeable bat-
tery at temperatures under 0°C and over 40°C.
Allow the rechargeable battery to cool for approx. 30
minutes before recharging.

Disposal of a rechargeable battery that no longer
functions
Properly recycle or dispose of the rechargeable battery
to protect natural resources.
This rechargeable battery contains lithium-ion batteries.
Contact your local disposal company for information on
available recycling and disposal options.
Discharge your rechargeable battery by operating your
device. Then take the rechargeable battery out of the
device and cover the connections of the battery set with
thick masking tape to prevent short circuit.
Do not attempt to open or remove one of the parts.
NOTE: The rechargeable battery only fits in the charging
station with "+" to "+" and to "-". The charger does not
function at extreme temperatures.
During the charging process the charger becomes warm,
this is normal.
The rechargeable battery does not charge:
Check whether the rechargeable battery has been cor-
rectly inserted in the charger, and ensure that the display
is illuminated.
Switching the tool on/off
Slide the safety lock (6) forward and activate switch (7).
After the tool has been switched on, you do not have to
hold the safety lock (6) any longer.
To switch off just let go of the switch (7).
Refitting the tool / Changing the shear sys-
tems
Put the included blade guard into the blade(s) and use
protective gloves to protect yourself from injury.
Push both lateral push buttons concurrently and re-move
the shearing blades (Fig. 5).
Remove any dirt from the gear area (if necessary).
Please slightly grease the drive area (A) using commer-
cial universal grease as described in the Maintenance
section before putting the replacement shears in place
(Fig.7).
Lead the cutting blades with the rear holding toe into
the housing of the grass shears as shown in fig. 8 and
lock the click system in place by strongly pushing on the
blade base plate.
The position of the eccentric drive does not have to be
considered when changing the blades. When the device
is switched on, the gear eccentric unit automatically
engages into the appropriate relief in the shearing blade.
The device is now ready for operation.

Caution! The cutting tool continues to run
after the device is switched off.
