battery. If the outer seal is damaged and your skin
comes into contact with this fluid, immediately wash
off the exposed area with water. If the fluid gets into
your eyes, rinse your eyes with water for at least 10
minutes and seek a physician immediately.
4. Never attempt to open the rechargeable battery
for any reason. If the plastic housing of the battery
is broken or is cracked, the rechargeable battery
you must stop using and charging the battery im-
mediately.
5. Do not store or carry a spare rechargeable battery
in a pocket or tool box or other location where the
rechargeable battery could come into contact with
metal objects. A short circuit could occur in the re-
chargeable battery that could damage the battery or
could cause burn injuries or fire.
6. Do not stick nails into the rechargeable battery, do
not strike it with a hammer, do not step on the re-
chargeable battery, and do not subject to any other
form of strong impact.
7. Never place the rechargeable battery in fire or in the
vicinity of a fire, on stoves or at other locations with
high temperatures. Do not expose the rechargeable
battery to direct sunlight; do not use or store the
rechargeable battery in vehicles at high outdoor
temperatures. If you do so, the rechargeable battery
will generate heat, explode or ignite. In addition, this
type of battery use results in loss of capacity and a
shortened service life of the rechargeable battery.
8. If you want to store the rechargeable battery for an
extended period of time without using it, store the re-
chargeable battery with charge status of 30 - 50% of
its capacity at a room temperature of (18°C to 24°C).
If you store the rechargeable battery over a very long
period of time, once a year charge the rechargeable
battery to prevent deep discharge.
9. Only charge the rechargeable battery with the pro-
vided charger.

If you want to take the rechargeable battery out of the
device, press the two locking buttons on either side of
the rechargeable battery and pull the rechargeable bat-
tery out of the device.
Align the lifted tab of the rechargeable battery on the
apertures when inserting it, and insert the rechargeable
battery into the hedge trimmer. Ensure that the snap
closure of the rechargeable battery is engaged and that
the rechargeable battery is firmly seated in the device,
before starting you work.

Charging the rechargeable battery (Fig. 3)
The rechargeable battery has been shipped with low
charge status. Prior to use, you must completely charge
the rechargeable battery.
Ensure that your mains voltage agrees with the specifi-
cations on the charger.
Plug the charger into the electrical outlet. The device
will execute a self-diagnosis process; the red and green
lamp will be illuminated for one second.
