MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Make sure the power switch of the circular saw is in its "OFF" position, and that
the tool is unplugged from its electrical outlet, before inspecting, maintaining or cleaning.
Before each use, inspect the general condition of the circular saw. Check for
loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts,
damaged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect its safe
operation. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before
further use.
Before remounting the saw blade, remove all sawdust that has accumulated
around the safety guard.
Regularly inspect and tighten all mounting screws and knobs.
Keep saw blade clean and sharp. Sharp blades minimize stalling and kickback.
Keep guards in good working order.
Keep motor air vents clean of dust and debris. Vacuum periodically.
If the tool is not operating normally, making unusual noises, or appears defective,
stop using it immediately and get it repaired.
Clean tool with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use solvents as they can
damage and crack the plastic parts.
Replacing the Carbon Brushes
1.
Unscrew the carbon brush covers.
2. Pull out the carbon brushes from each side of the motor and examine them. If
they are worn more than half way down, replace them. If simply dirty, they
can be cleaned using an ink eraser.
3. Replace the carbon brushes and covers.
