Method of operation and use
The intermediate position module type
HMPL-...-M... provides additional functions
for the linear module type HMPL-... . The
HMPL-...-M... consists of three components:
the intermediate position cylinder 8
fastening flange 5 and
positioning element 1.
The intermediate position cylinder is fastened
to the basic profile, the positioning element is
fastened with the aid of the fastening flange
to the drive plate of the HMPL-... .
The piston rod of the intermediate position
cylinder and the plunger 3 are aligned cen-
trally. When the compressed air connections

piston rod with the bolt 6 moves in and out.
The plunger 3 of the positioning element
thus moved 1 meets the bolt during its
stroke movement. The following positions can
be reached (see Fig. 3):
a) Retracted end position
b) Intermediate position
(intermediate position cylinder actuated)
c) Extended end position
The construction design enables the intermediate position to be reached and
passed from both end positions.
The intermediate position module type HMPL-...-M..-... is designed for positioning
the piston rod of Festo linear modules of type HMPL-... at a point between the end
positions.
