d) Switching the Helicopter on
Before taking the helicopter into operation, ensure that the
flight battery is charged completely and the batteries in the
transmitter still have enough voltage.
First connect the flight battery to the helicopter electronics
plug connection (1) with protection against polarity reversal.
The blue LED (2) on the main PCB of the helicopter flashes
quickly first and then slow for after approx. 5 seconds.
When the LED flashes slowly, switch on the remote control
transmitter with the function switch. This starts the binding
process, after which transmitter and receiver use the same
digital code.
Once binding is completed, the blue LED of the main PCB
remains lit and the two swash plate servos (3) for the nod
and roll function run to the basic position.
The swash plate (4) then must be aligned horizontally (see
auxiliary line in the lower figure).
If the swash plate is tilted, use the trim or twist the linkage
rods (5) to precisely adjust the swash plate.
For more information on this, see the following section
„Trimming the Helicopter", and the chapter „Fine Tuning of
the Helicopter".
Now your model helicopter is ready to start.
For better presentation, the canopy of the
helicopter was taken off for figure 12.
Lift the canopy (1) off of the two support bolts (2) on the left
and the right and pull off the canopy forwards.
Install the canopy in reverse order.
