MATERIALS
A 1 Cross Tube
C 2 Sidearms
D 6 M10 x 40 Bolts, Lock Washers, Ø30 Flat Washers and Cage nuts
E 1 M8x20 Bolt, Neoprene washer and Nyloc nut.
ZP 1 Flip up Electrical Plate kit (Z99)
ZE 1 Electrical Plate Angle (ZEQ5)
For use with either
VW43E Flange neck option – ZF3012. Note: This towbar must be used with either a Witter Towball (part number Z11) or
Class A50-1 or A50-X towball dimensionally Conforming to A50-1 with a 'D' and 'S' value greater than or equal to that of the towbar.
VW43EQ Detachable neck option – ZQ3012. Please refer to ZQ fitting instructions for installation
VW43EQF – Detachable flange neck option – ZQF3012.
FITTING
1. Remove bumper (Torx head screws around each wheel arch, along lower edge of rear panel, beneath each light
cluster (light cluster must be removed for all models except Seat Leon) and along top edge of bumper).
2. Remove bumper cross beam from vehicle and retain for fitment if towbar is removed.
3. Assemble cage nuts to Sidearms (C) noting the correct location as shown below and position sidearms (C)
inside chassis and loosely secure using Bolts (D) at existing holes (covered in tape) with Large Flat Washers -
Note: access to the forward mountings (D) is very poor, this is greatly improved if the wheel arch protectors are
removed.
4. Assemble four remaining cage nuts and insert into slot in each end of crossbar (A) and slot in sidearms (C),
again noting the correct location as shown below. Secure crossbar (A) to sidearms (C) with remaining fixings
(D).
5. Attach electrical plate angle (ZE) and electrical plate (ZP) to crossbar, before attaching neck option to Cross
Tube (A) as per separate fitting instructions,
6. Cut bumper as shown (If a retractable electrical socket is not required, the bumper cut can be reduced
considerably to suit, refit bumper, light clusters – the re-fitment is the reversal of removal. Note: Protect the
lower edge of bumper whilst refitting over the crossbar as it can easily be damaged.
Please refer to the vehicle specification for the trailer weight and nose limits, which must be observed.
Recommended torque settings: Grade 8.8 bolts: M8 - 24Nm, M10 - 52 Nm, M12 - 80 Nm, M16 - 200 Nm
Grade 10.9: M12 – 120Nm
