Troubleshooting the camera
There can be two reasons why the camera would not transmit any signal. Either the camera is not supplied
with power and does not work accordingly, or the camera is supplied with power but the signal cannot be
received by the LCD-monitor due to obstacles, interferences or incorrect channel selection etc.
If the power is correctly connected, the IR-LEDs around the lens will glow with a red light when the
camera is placed in pitch-black surroundings. Cup your hands around the lens and inspect if the IR-
LEDs glow.
No picture (black screen or noise)
Possible error
• No antenna on the monitor.
• Incorrect channel chosen.
• The camera is supplied with power (the IR-
LEDs glow in the dark) but you still receive no
picture.
• The camera is not supplied with power (the
IR-LEDs do not glow in the dark).
• The interior light is not capable of supplying
enough power.
• The distance is too great and/or obstacles
are interfering between the camera and the
monitor.
• The camera frequency is being interfered by
other equipment or is not optimally set.
Interferences in picture
Possible error
• Interferences in terms of horizontal lines
• Pale colours or black & white picture.
Action
• Make sure the black antenna is mounted on the
back off the monitor and that it is tightly fastened.
• Choose the same channel as the camera is
transmitting on (2 or 4).
• Make sure that the antenna is thoroughly attached
to the back of the camera.
• Start the car and turn on the lights.
• Make sure that the joints are carefully put
together. Further make sure that the power cable
is not broken or pinched.
• In rare cases the interior lights power supply may
be insufficient to power both the lighting and
the camera. Starting the engine or turning the
interior light off are ways to correct this problem.
Changing to the rear lights or a different power
source is another solution.
• Angle the camera's antenna differently or place
the camera in a different spot in the trailer.
• Change the camera frequency (see Chapter 4).
Action
• The interferences are caused by wireless internet
(WLAN). Change the camera frequency (see
Chapter 4) or the WLAN frequency. Move the
trailer to a different location.
• In dark conditions the IR-LEDs will automatically
switch on and this results in pale colours. In pitch-
black surroundings the picture will become black
& white.
