3.2. Checking the engine oil level and topping up
IMPORTANT
Remove the oil dipstick/filler plug (A - 2 & B - 2) by unscrewing it, and wipe the dipstick.
Insert the oil dipstick/filler plug in the filler neck (B - 3) without tightening it, then take it out again.
Check the level and top up if necessary.
Retighten the dipstick/filler plug fully in the filler neck.
Check that there are no oil leaks, and wipe away any traces of oil with a clean cloth.
OR
Take out the oil filler cap (B - 4 ). The level should be at the filler neck overflow point. Top up if necessary.
Screw the oil filler cap back on fully
Check that there are no oil leaks, and wipe away any traces of oil with a clean cloth.
3.3. Checking the fuel level and topping up
DANGER
Storage and handling of petroleum products must be carried out in accordance with the law. Use only clean fuel without any water. Do
not use E15, E20 or E85 fuel. Do not overfill the tank (there should not be any fuel in the filler neck).
Position the generating set on flat, level ground.
Close the fuel tap (A - 6).
Unscrew the fuel tank cap (A - 4).
Visually check the level of fuel. If necessary, fill up without removing the screen filter, using a funnel and taking care to prevent fuel
spillage.
Carefully retighten the fuel tank cap and clean away any traces of fuel using a clean cloth.
3.4. Checking the condition of the air filter
Never use petrol or flammable solvents to clean the air filter element (risk of fire or explosion when starting the
generating set). Never start the generating set without an air filter or exhaust.
IMPORTANT
Undo the mounting bolt (C - 1) and remove the air filter cover (C - 2).
Remove the filter element (C - 3) and visually check its condition.
Clean the element and replace it if necessary (see § Cleaning the air filter).
Install the filter element and the air filter cover and tighten the screw in the air filter cover.
Before starting the generating set, always check the oil level. If the generating set was used beforehand,
leave the generating set to cool for at least 30 minutes before checking the oil level.
Top up the tank with the recommended oil (see § Specifications) using a funnel.
RISK OF EXPLOSION
The fuel is highly flammable and its vapours are combustible.
Filling should be carried out with the engine switched off and cold. Smoking, using a
naked flame or producing sparks are forbidden while the fuel tank is being filled.
