BMW SERIE 1 SERIE 3
Fitting instructions :
- SERIES 1 model:
- Remove the lights (3 nuts in the trunk), to facilitate the unclipping of the bumper.
- Remove the bumper (10 screws, 4 screws under the wings, 4 screws on the bumper
reinforcement), and the plastic casing
- Remove the bumper reinforcement (will not be reassembled).
- Keep the foam seals and the nuts.
- Assemble the tow bar with the nuts of the bumper reinforcement without forgetting the foam
seals (see table of tightening torque).
- Refit the rubber muffler bracket
- Make the cut in the plastic casing according to the diagram below.
- Refit the bumper, (2 lower external fasteners are no longer used), and the plastic casing.
- SERIES 3 model:
- To facilitate the removal of the bumper, remove the taillights.
- Remove the bumper (4 screws under each wing, 11 underneath).
- For the break model, (4 screws under each wing, 11 underneath, 1 screw each side at the corner
of taillight, under the tailgate and under the plastic cover, several clips at the joint with the wing).
- Remove the bumper reinforcement (will not be reassembled)
- Keep the foam seals and the nuts.
- Remove the lower plastic casing.
- Assemble the tow bar with the nuts of the bumper reinforcement (see table of tightening torque).
- Refit the rubber muffler bracket
- Make the cut in the plastic casing according to the diagram below.
- Refit the bumper and the plastic casing.
