= Re-connect the tool to the air supply and cycle it, (fire it without fasteners) a
couple of times to move the oil throughout the tool.
= Take care not to over-lubricate: More than necessary will be expelled from
the tool's exhaust during firing and could also damage the O-rings in the tool.
= Wipe off excess oil at the exhaust.

1. Turn the compressor on.
2. Set the regulator to proper pressure for the size of brads being used.
3. After reading and understanding this entire manual, connect tool to air sup-
ply.
CAUTION:
= Keep the tool pointed away from you and others at all times.
= Do not load fasteners with air connected, safety or trigger depressed.
= Always wear approved safety glasses and hearing protection when preparing
or operating this tool.
= Never use a tool that leaks air or needs repair.
= The safety labels on the tool should be replaced if they are illegible.

1. Disconnect the tool from the air supply. Do not load or adjust the tool if it is
connected to the air supply.
Lock
2. Depress the LOCK (CPT273N-64) to release MOVABLE MAGAZINE
(CPT273N-53) and pull the magazine out fully as shown.
3. Place a full stick of the desired size of brads on the FIXED MAGAZINE
(CPT273N-58). In the case of 18 gauge brad nails, lay them against the
left side of the fixed magazine's central spline. Up to 100 fasteners can be
loaded in the magazine.
4. Push the MOVABLE MAGAZINE UNIT (CPT273N-53) forward until the
LOCK (CPT273N-64) clicks and locks it.
5. The tool is ready to operate.
CAUTION: Keep the tool pointed away from yourself and others during
reconnection. The fastener driving mechanism may cycle when the tool is
connected to the air supply.

1. The depth to which a brad is driven is determined by the supplied air pres-
sure. Test fire a brad into a sample of the material you will be working on
and check depth. If a change is desired, adjust the regulator to supply air at
a higher or lower pressure. Test fire another fastener and check depth again.
Adjust as necessary.
CAUTION:
= Keep tool pointed in a safe direction at all times.
= Never attempt to drive fasteners into materials too hard to penetrate, at too
steep an angle, or too near the edge of the workpiece. The fastener can
ricochet, causing personal injury.
= Disconnect tool from air supply before doing any disassembly, maintenance,
clearing a jammed fastener, leaving the work area, moving the tool to an-
other location, or handing the tool to another person.
= Clean and inspect the tool daily. Carefully check the functioning of the trig-
ger and safety mechanism. Do not use the tool if the trigger or the safety
mechanism don't work properly, if the tool has an air leak or if it needs
repairs.
2. Connect the tool to the air supply. Ensure the air pressure is within the limits
mentioned in SPECIFICATIONS.
3. Firmly grasp the BODY (CPT273N-22) and push the SAFETY CONTACT
(CPT273N-50) against the surface of the workpiece while ensuring the tool is
perpendicular to the surface.
4. Gently squeeze the TRIGGER (CPT273N-39) to fire the fastener.
5. Lift the tool from the work surface.
