13. THE CC-CV CHARGE PROCEDURE EXPLAINED

The CC-CV charge process consists of 3 phases and will be used for the following battery
types: LiFe, LiIo, LiPo and Pb
CC-Phase
Constant Current
1. In the CC (Constant Current) Phase, the charge current is kept constant until charge
volatge is reached.
2. Thereafter, the CV (Constant Voltage) phase starts whereby the voltage is held constant.
The charging has already reached approximately 85-90 % of the capacity, the charge
current will then be reduced further.
3. When 99% capacity is reached (charge current=capacity / 20) the cut-off melody sounds
and the cut-off screen appears in the charger display. The battery is fully charged and
can now be removed from the charger. If the battery remains connected, then it conti-
nues to be charged at minimum current in the Trickle Phase. A charge current cut-off is
made with a trickle charge of around 30-40 mA.
