Roxxy BL-Outrunner
®
Brushless motors with Neodymium magnets are the most modern
electric power plants available. They constitute very efficient high-
torque motors with a broad power spectrum, especially in the form
of outrunner motors which need no gearbox.
Outrunner motors are capable of driving large propellers, without the
need for a gearbox, due to their special construction.
This makes them ideal for direct-drive applications.
- Maximum copper fill and high-quality Neodymium magnets for
high efficiency.
- Large precision ballraces for smooth running.
- Can be mounted by either end.
Typical application
For electric gliders up to about 8500 g
Scale and sport models up to about 4700 g
Aerobatic and 3-D models up to about 3300 g
Installation advice
- Select the fixing screws length so that no damage to the motor
occurs. Use (Loctite 648) thread-lock fluid so that the screws do
not loosen in use. The thread-lock fluid must not get into the ball
bearings.
- Ensure the outrunner bell runs freely.
- Do not use damaged propellers.
- Ensure that neither dirt, water nor metal particles can enter the
inner workings of the motor.
- If the motor runs in the wrong direction, swap two the three power
cables over.

Safety notes for operating the motor
- Whenever you are installing or otherwise handling the motor or speed control-
ler, be sure to observe the instructions supplied with those units.
- It is also important to study the instructions provided with the LiPo battery
before using them for the first time.
- Whenever you are working on the model - making adjustments, carrying out
maintenance etc. - keep well clear of the rotational plane of the propeller, as
it constitutes an injury hazard. Do not let anybody stand in front of the model
when the engine is running.
DISPOSAL
This symbol means that it is essential to dispose of electrical and elec-
tronic equipment separately from the domestic refuse when it reaches the
end of its useful life. Take your unwanted equipment to your local com-
munal collection point or recycling centre. This applies to all countries of
the European Union, and to other European countries with separate waste
collection systems.
