2 Safety Information

This warning symbol highlights important safety information which must be
followed carefully.
1. Be aware of finger trap hazard at all times.
2. Any changes in the performance or function of the limb e.g. instability, double-
action, restricted movement, non-smooth motion or unusual noises should be
immediately reported to your service provider.
3. Always use a hand rail when descending stairs and at any other time if available.
4. Any excessive changes in heel height after finalization of alignment may adversely
affect limb function.
5. After continuous use the cylinder can become hot.
6. The device is not designed for prolonged submersion. Ensure any use of the device
in water complies with the conditions given in "Limitations on Use" (see Section 5).
7. After any period of immersion in water, rinse the device with fresh clean water and
then thoroughly dry before reuse.
8. Ensure only suitably retrofitted vehicles are used when driving. All persons are
required to observe their respective driving laws when operating motor vehicles.
9. Care should be taken when carrying heavy loads as this may adversely affect the
stability of the device.
10. Contact your practitioner if your condition changes.
11. Avoid exposure to extreme heat and/or cold
12. Assembly, maintenance and repair of the device must only be carried out by a
suitably qualified clinician.
13. Do not adjust the swing resistance settings set by your clinician, without prior
agreement and training from your clinician.
14. If you adjust swing resistance to settings unsuitable for your condition and required
operation, you risk injury from tripping, loss of balance and falling.
15. Whenever the device's swing resistance is adjusted, caution should be exercised until
you become fully accustomed to the new settings to minimise the risk of injury from
tripping, loss of balance and falling.
Notes: i) Always make a note of the swing resistance settings set by your clinician before making
any swing resistance adjustments, so you can easily return the device to these settings as
required.
ii) If you remove the cosmetic cover to make swing resistance adjustments, take care to
avoid finger trap hazards while the cover is removed.
iii) When adjustments are completed, immediately refit the cosmetic cover (see Section 8)
to help protect against finger trap hazards in use.
