1.2 Responsibilities of the User
The VTS torch system is used in industry and in the trade for inert gas welding
using inert gases (MIG) or active gases (MAG). To ensure safe TCP installation
and exchangeability of the VTS modules, the interfaces are identical. The VTS
interlock connection makes the torch positions reproducible. This range can be
used in all welding positions. The VTS torch system is available in a liquid-
cooled version which requires a re-circulating cooling unit. These operating
instructions only describe the VTS torch system. The VTS torch system may only
be operated using original ABICOR BINZEL spare parts.
This device fulfils the requirements of the relevant EU directives.
Conformity is confirmed by the CE marking on the device.
Within the EEA (European Economic Area) the current version of the national
implementation of the Framework Directive (89/391/EEC) and the related
individual directives and, of these, especially Directive (89/655/EEC)
concerning the minimum safety and health requirements for the use of work
equipment by workers at work must be adhered to. In Germany, the Job
Protection Law and the Company Safety Ordinance must be heeded. In
addition, the operator must ensure that the VTS torch system in connection
welding units complies with the EC EMC Directive (2014/30/EU) and that the
signal utilization of the integrated welding current monitoring against stray
currents is installed properly.
