Maintenance
Examine the starter and the starter rope for damages.
Examine the spark plug. Refer to
place the spark plug if it is necessary. Make sure that the spark plug is fitted with
a suppressor.
Clean the external surface of the carburetor and the area around it.
Make sure that the bevel gear is filled correctly with grease. Refer to
on page 23 .
Examine the fuel filter for contamination and the fuel hose for cracks and other
defects. Replace if it is necessary.
Examine all cables and connections.
Replace the spark plug. Make sure that the spark plug is fitted with a suppres-
sor.
To adjust the idle speed
The high speed needle and the low speed needle are
permanently set and cannot be adjusted. The idle speed
is the only function that can be adjusted.
1. Start the engine and make sure that it is run warm
before you start to adjust the idle speed.
2. Turn the idle speed screw clockwise until the cutting
attachment starts to rotate.
3. Turn the idle speed screw counterclockwise until the
cutting attachment stops.
4. The idle speed must be below the speed when the
cutting attachment starts to rotate. The idle speed is
correct when the engine operates smoothly in all
positions.
To do maintenance on the muffler
The muffler decreases the noise level and points the
exhaust gases away from the operator.
WARNING:
converters get very hot during operation and
will stay hot for some time after you stop the
product. This also applies at idle speed. If
you touch the product it can result in burns
to the skin. Think about of the risk of fire.

1. Stop the product and let it cool down.
2. Remove the muffler.
3. Remove the screws that holds the spark arrestor
screen.
4. Clean the spark arrestor screen if it is blocked or
replace it if it is damaged.
