8.1 Starting an engine fitted with its battery.
1- Switch off the ignition.
2- Switch off all the accessories such as headlights, car radio, fan, air conditioning, etc.
3-Connect the clamp connector (11) to the output (10) of the Mini Jumpstarterthen connect
the clamps to the correct terminals of the vehicle's battery:
For a vehicle with a negative earth system; Connect the red positive clamp(+) of the
Mini Jumpstarter to the red positive terminal (POS, P, +) of the battery.Then connect
the black negative clamp (-) of the Mini Jumpstarter to the chassis of the vehicle or to
the engine block.
For a vehicle with a positive earth system;Connect the black negative clamp(-) to the
black negative terminal (NEG, N, -) of the battery. Then connect the redpositive clamp
(+) to the chassis of the vehicle or the engine block.
4- Once the proper connection has been made, press the power button for 2 seconds in
order to switch on the Mini Jumpstarter, at which point the capacity of the internal
battery will be displayed on the LCD screen.
5- Press the "Engine start" button for 2 seconds. This triggers the start-up procedure and the
word "Ready" will be displayed on the LCD screen along with a timer indicating the time
remaining before the end of the start-up procedure. During this time, a start-up attempt
may be carried out. At the end of this timer function, press the "Engine Start" button for 2
seconds if you have not carried out a start-up attempt. This will trigger start-up procedure
once again. If you have attempted to start up the engine and this has failed, the word
"Cooling" will be displayed on your LCD screen accompanied by a timer indicating the time
needed for the Mini Jumpstarter to cool down. At the end of this timer function, press the
"Engine Start" button again for 2 seconds in order to trigger the start-up procedure again.
6- If, after having connected it up properly, the word"Connecting" appears on the LCD screen,
this means that the voltage of the vehicle battery is lessthan 2V. Press the "Override" button
for 2 seconds in order to switch to"Override" mode. The words "Override" and "Ready" will
be displayed on LCD screen with a timer indicating the time remaining before the end of
thestart-up procedure (press the "Override" button again to return to themain menu and
stop the "Override" mode).
Note: When the "Override" mode is activated, the short-circuit protection is deactivated.
In "Override" mode, alwaysensure that the clamps are properly connected
to the correct terminals so that they cannot come into direct contact with
one another (short-circuit).
- After starting up the engine, disconnect the black clamp (-) followed by the red one (+).
