Safety switch
A special safety switch in the motor housing
ensures that the appliance can only be
operated if the blender jug is properly locked
in position.
Before removing the blender jug, make
sure that the rotary control is in position 0.
This also applies when fi tting the blender
jug to the motor housing. If the control is
not in its off-position (0), the motor will start
immediately.
Operation
∙ Fit the blender jug to motor housing, with
its handle to the right, in such a way that
the two triangle symbols are aligned.
∙ Put the ingredients into the blender jug.
The jug has a maximum capacity of 1500
ml. To avoid possible foaming or spilling
when processing foamable or thin liquids
such as milk, do not fi ll the jug over the
1000 ml mark.
∙ Replace the lid and turn clockwise until it
is heard locking into place.
∙ Insert the stopper into the lid.
∙ To add ingredients during operation, the
stopper in the centre of the lid can be
removed.
∙ Caution: Do not operate when the
blender jug is empty. Do not fi ll it with dry
items only, such as nuts, almonds etc.
∙ Insert the plug into the wall outlet and use
the rotary control to select the required
power setting.
∙ After using the blender, switch off and
remove the plug from the wall socket.
Wait until the motor has come to a
complete standstill before removing the
blender jug.
Crushing ice
Ice-cubes can be easily crushed in the
blender jug:
Fill the jug a quarter full with ice cubes, and
then fi t it to the motor housing, as described
in the section Operation. Put on the lid with
the stopper in place, and use the pulse
function (P) to operate the appliance for
about 2 seconds. Wait until the ice cubes
have collected in the bottom of the jug again
and then repeat the process, until the cubes
have been reduced to the required size.
Cleaning and care
∙ Always remove the plug from the wall
socket before cleaning the appliance.
∙ To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the motor housing or the power
cord with water and do not immerse them
in water. The motor housing may be
wiped with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
∙ Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning
solutions or hard brushes for cleaning.
∙ For cleaning directly after use, fi ll the
blender jug with around 1000 ml of
warm water and a little detergent. Let
the appliance run for a short period
as described in the section Operation.
Afterwards, rinse the blender jug, lid and
stopper with fresh water. All parts must
me thoroughly dried afterwards.
∙ These parts are not dishwasher-safe.
∙ If required, the blade unit for the blender
jar can be detached for cleaning (see
diagram):
∙ Turn the blender jug upside down and
take off the black blade unit by turning it
anti-clockwise. Caution: The blades are
extremely sharp.
