SAFETY REGULATIONS
Warning: When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be
observed, including the following, to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury.
General
1. Read this user manual carefully before you use this appliance and keep it for future reference.
2. Use it only as described in this manual.
3. Not to be used for other purposes than described in this manual.
4. Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord or other components are damaged.
5. If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Van den Berg Products, a service
centre authorized by Van den Berg Products or similarly qualified person in order to avoid
a safety hazard.
6. Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage
before you connect the appliance.
7. Always use an earthed socket.
8. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction regarding the use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
9. This appliance is not a toy. Careful supervision is required when the unit is used near
children, pets and plants. Do not allow children to use this appliance.
10. Never allow children to play with the plastic packaging.
11. Do not use the unit if it is not working properly or has been dropped, damaged or left
outdoors.
12. Check the cleaner, power supply cable and accessories regularly for damage. Do not use
this cleaner if it or its accessories have been damaged.
13. Turn off the appliance before you pull the plug from the wall socket or before placing the
plug in the wall socket.
14. Do not pull the plug from the wall socket by its power cord. To take the plug from the wall
socket you hold the plug and pull it carefully from the wall socket.
15. Always disconnect the appliance from the wall socket when filling with water or emptying,
and when not in use.
16. Do not use the unit outside.
17. Never immerse the appliance into water or into any other liquid.
18. Do not touch the unit or the plug with wet hands.
19. Do not pull or carry the unit by its power cord and do not use the power cord as a handle.
Do not close the door on the power cord or pull it around sharp edges or corners.
20. Keep the power cord away from heated surfaces.
21. Do not use any accessories that are not recommended by the supplier; especially those
accessories that have not been supplied with the appliance.
22. Always switch the appliance off before you attach or remove the accessories. Make sure
the device is completely cooled down before attaching or removing accessories.
23. Do not leave the appliance unattended when the plug is in the wall socket. Remove the
plug from the wall socket when you are not using the device or when carrying out
maintenance.
24. Do not use the appliance to clean windows, walls, ceiling or electrical appliances.
25. Never use the unit in the proximity of combustible liquids and gases. Risk of explosion.
