Please read these instructions carefully. The instructions are an integral component of the

product. Therefore, please store them and the packaging carefully in case questions arise

in the future. Please always include these instructions when handing on the product to

a third party. Children should only assemble, use or repair the product when under adult

supervision. This product is not suitable for commercial use. This product contains small

parts which could cause asphyxia if swallowed. Please supervise children accordingly

during assembly.

WARNING NOTICES

This product is only suitable for smooth paved surfaces. Do not use it on public roads. The

Ratzfratz is only intended for use by one person. Please take care that your child wears

the appropriate protective clothing (helmet) and doesn't use the Ratzfratz without shoes.

Do not allow your child to ride the Ratzfratz at twilight, at night or in poor visibility. To

prevent putting your child or others in danger, you should not let the Ratzfratz be used on

roads or thoroughfares or on slopes or hills. Avoid using it in the proximity of stairs or open

water. Inspect the Ratzfratz before each use to ensure that all parts are still fixed in place

correctly and that the Ratzfratz is functioning as intended. Please keep the instruction

sheet. The product has been tested in accordance with standard EN 71. For children from

1 to 5 years of age only.

ATTACHING THE WHEELS AND SADDLE

• Attach the mudguard to the front wheel fork with the screw and nut (fig. 1).

• The rear wheel comes pre-mounted. Only the front wheel has to be mounted. Insert

the front wheel into the front wheel fork (8) by removing the axle locks (13) and

external nuts (12) from the wheel axle. Check whether the tapers (screw fittings on

the wheel bearings) (14) are tightly screwed on to the axles and secure them with the

nuts (12). Now secure the wheel with the aid of the hooks to the axle locks (13) in

order to hook these into the holes on the fork. Tighten the axle screws (12). Please

ensure that the wheels are straight when inserted into the fork/frame.

• Attach the saddle as shown in ﬁ g. 1. The cover (3) should initially be pulled over the

saddle's supporting tube (17). However, this is not necessary with the lowest saddle

setting. Please ensure that the maximum saddle height is not exceeded by refraining

from pulling the saddle support higher than the "MAX" indication as exceeding the

maximum saddle height could lead to serious injuries.

ATTACHING THE HANDLEBARS

• Attach the steering rod parallel to the front wheel. Attach the fork and handlebars

as shown in fig. 1. In order to set the highest position of the steering rod, the vertical

supporting tube can be pulled out to the "MAX" indication. Do not pull out the rod

further as this might lead to accidents. Please ensure that the steering rod is positioned

correctly in relation to the front wheel before tightening the screw. The clamp must be

tightened to the fork tube. Not to the handlebar tube!

• The brake system comes pre-mounted. However, you should make sure that the

brakes are working perfectly. Test the brakes several times before using the bicycle.

Apart from that, please note the information on how to set up the brakes.

• Attach the protective padding with the aid of the Velcro band stitched on it to the

centre of the steering rod.

After you have assembled all components, make sure that all connections are tightly

screwed together before allowing your children to play with the running bike.

HOW TO SET UP THE BRAKES

ON THE RATZFRATZ RUNNING BIKE

Your running bike has a rim brake on the back wheel which is operated via the brake

lever on the handlebars (fig. 1). If the braking effect decreases, the brakes should

be readjusted. Please consider that this work is normally carried out by trained and

experienced mechanics. Therefore, technical understanding and the correct use of tools

are very helpful. As this is fine-tuning work, some patience and practice is required. Only

brakes that have been set up perfectly can produce their full effect.

Before undertaking the tuning work, the following should be checked:

• the wheels are in a straight position (15)

• the Bowden cable (black cable cover) (16) should not be flexed, damaged or rusty.

If any of this occurs, we recommend replacing the brake cable or Bowden cable.

Wear and tear on the brake shoes (E) should be looked out for. If the brake shoes (E) have

already been worn out to such an extent that they can hardly be seen anymore, it's worth

replacing them.

Before tuning the brakes, please check with your child whether the brake lever (A) can

be operated easily by your child. By turning the screw (B), you can reduce the distance

between the brake lever and the handlebars and thereby adapt to the size of your child's

hand. The initial tuning work can be carried out on the brake lever (A). If this is not enough,

the Bowden cable should be retightened. Loosen the lock nut (A1) there, unscrew the

adjusting screw (A2) on the brake lever and refix the lock nut.

Please loosen the cap nut (C) on the brake arm (D) which holds the cable tight to adjust the

brakes. If you now press both brake arms with your hand towards the rim, the distance

between the brake shoes and the rim should be min. 1mm and max. 3mm.

Attach the Bowden cable by tightening the cap nut.

Check that the brake shoes (E) are positioned correctly. Their entire surface area should

be pressed to the rim when full brake pressure is applied. If the brake shoes do not lie on

the rim edge, they should be readjusted by loosening the Allen screws (F). Please ensure

that you tighten these again correctly following the adjustment. If one brake arm now

pulls more or less, correct this using the spring adjusting screws (G) directly on the brake

arms. If a brake arm is pressing less to the rim, the spring adjusting screw (G) has to be

screwed in a little. If a brake arm is pressing too much on the rim, the spring adjusting

screw has to be unscrewed a little.

Before the bicycle is used for the first time, activate the brake lever several times and check

whether all of the screws have been tightened and the brakes are working perfectly.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Use a dry or damp cloth only to clean the product; do not use special cleaning

agents! Check the product for damage and traces of wear and tear before and after each

use. Store the product in a safe place where it is protected from the elements, cannot

be damaged, and cannot injure anyone. For your own safety, please use original spare

parts only. These can be sourced from HUDORA. Do not make any structural changes. If

parts become damaged or if sharp edges or corners should develop, the product may not

DISPOSAL ADVICE

At the end of the product's life, please dispose of it at an appropriate collection point

Il prodotto è stato testato secondo la Norma EN 71. Adatto solo per bambini e ragazzi di

età compresa tra 1 e 5 anni.

MONTAGGIO DELLE RUOTE E DELLA SELLA

• Fissare la lamiera protettiva con vite e dado alla forcella anteriore (vedi illustrazione 1).

• La ruota posteriore è già stata preventivamente montata. Deve essere montata soltanto

la ruota anteriore. Inserire la ruota anteriore nella forcella anteriore (8), mentre rimuovete

le sicurezze dell'asse (13) e i dadi esterni (12) dall'asse della ruota. Controllate che i coni

(= raccordi ai cuscinetti della ruota) (14) siano ﬁ ssati all'asse e assicurateli con i dadi

(12). Agganciate quindi la ruota alle sicurezze dell'asse (13) in modo da posizionarla

nell'apertura della forcella. Fissate le viti sull'asse (12). Assicuratevi che le ruote siano

posizionate in asse con la forcella/ telaio.

• Montare la sella come mostrato nell'illustrazione 1. La copertura (3) deve essere

posizionata vicino al tubo di supporto (17) del sellino. Tuttavia ciò non è necessario se

si regola il sellino nella posizione più bassa. Fate attenzione a non oltrepassare l'altezza

massima del sellino, mentre il tubo reggisella non deve andare oltre l'indicazione MAX,

poiché il superamento dell'altezza massima del sellino potrebbe provocare gravi

incidenti.

MONTAGGIO DEL MANUBRIO

• Montare l'asta del manubrio parallelamente rispetto alla ruota anteriore. Montare

la forcella ed il manubrio come mostrato nell'illustrazione 1. Per posizionare l'asta

del manubrio nella posizione più alta, si può spostare il tubo di supporto verticale

fino all'indicazione "MAX". Non procedere oltre con l'asta poiché questo potrebbe

provocare incidenti.

• Assicurarsi che l'asta del manubrio sia nella giusta posizione in rapporto alla ruota

anteriore, prima di fissare le viti. La fascetta deve essere stretta al tubo forcella, non

al tubo del manubrio!

• L'impianto frenante è già stato preventivamente montato. Assicurarsi che i freni

funzionino in modo perfetto. Eseguire alcuni test sui freni prima di utilizzare la

bicicletta. Inoltre, fare attenzione alle indicazioni per la regolazione dei freni.

• Fissare l'imbottitura di protezione con l'aiuto della fascetta a metà dell'asta del

manubrio.

Assicurarsi dopo aver montato tutti i pezzi, che tutte le chiusure a vite siano ben

serrate, prima di far giocare i vostri bambini con la bicicletta.

REGOLAZIONE DEL FRENO TRAMITE LA RUOTA RATZFATZ

La vostra ruota possiede sulla ruota posteriore un freno su cerchio che si attiva tramite

la leva per il freno posta sul manubrio (vedi illustrazione 1). Se l'effetto frenante dovesse

diminuire, è necessario regolare nuovamente i freni. Si prega di notare che tali operazioni

vengono normalmente effettuate da installatori qualificati ed esperti. La conoscenza

tecnica ed il trattamento ordinario degli utensili sono pertanto molto utili. Trattandosi di

lavori di regolazione di precisione, sono necessari pazienza ed esercizio. Soltanto freni

regolati in modo ottimale possono svolgere correttamente la loro funzione.

Prima di effettuare lavori di regolazione, è necessario controllare:

• che il sellino sia diritto rispetto alle ruote (15)

• che il cavo di comando e il tirante Bowden (guaina nera) (16) non siano piegati,

danneggiati o arrugginiti. Se fosse presente uno dei fattori di cui sopra, si raccomanda

di cambiare il cavo di comando dei freni o il tirante Bowden.

Nel caso dei ceppi dei freni (E) è necessario porre attenzione all'usura. Nel caso in cui

i ceppi dei freni (E) si usurassero fino a non essere quasi più visibili, si raccomanda di

cambiarli.

Prima di regolare i freni, provate insieme al vostro bambino se riesce ad utilizzare la

leva per i freni (A) senza problemi. Ruotando la vite (B), potete ridurre la distanza del

freno su cerchio dal manubrio e adattarla alla portata della mano del vostro bambino. Le

prime regolazioni possono essere effettuate sulla leva per i freni (A). Se ciò non dovesse

bastare, dovrete serrare il cavo di comando. Qui svitare il controdado (A1) e allentare

la vite di registro (A2) della leva per freni e fissare nuovamente il controdado. Per la

regolazione del freno, svitare il dado cieco (C) sul braccio del freno (D) che tiene fissato il

cavo di comando. Quando stringete entrambi i bracci del freno al cerchio, la distanza dei

ceppi dei freni dal cerchio dovrebbe essere compresa tra min. 1mm e max. 3mm. Fissate

il cavo di comando avvitando il dado cieco.

Controllate la posizione dei ceppi dei freni (E). Dovrebbero essere premuti per la pressione

totale di frenatura con l'intera superficie sul cerchione. Nel caso in cui i ceppi dei freni non

fossero posizionati sul bordo del cerchio, regolare nuovamente allentando le viti a testa

esagonale (F). Assicurarsi che dopo la regolazione questi siano di nuovo perfettamente

serrati. Se un braccio freno è serrato in modo diverso, regolatelo nuovamente con le viti di

registro per molla (G) direttamente sui bracci del freno. Se un braccio del freno preme di

meno sul cerchione, serrare nuovamente a sufficienza la vite di registro per molla (G). Se

un braccio del freno preme di più sul cerchione, allentare a sufficienza la vite di registro

per molla.

Prima dell'utilizzo, azionate più volte la leva per il freno e controllate che tutte le viti siano

perfettamente serrate e che i freni funzionino regolarmente.

MANUTENZIONE E CURA

Pulire il prodotto solo con un panno oppure con un panno inumidito senza usare speciali

detergenti! Verificate che il prodotto non abbia subito danno e non presenti tracce di usura

prima e dopo l'uso. Stoccate il prodotto in un luogo sicuro, protetto dalle intemperie, in

modo che non possa essere danneggiato o ferire delle persone. Utilizzate per la vostra

sicurezza solo ricambi originali. Essi si possono acquistare presso la ditta HUDORA. Non

apportate alcuna modifica al prodotto. Se le parti dovessero essere danneggiate oppure

dovessero evidenziare angoli e spigoli, il prodotto non potrà più essere utilizzato. Nel
