Recommended Tools
The following tools are recommended for successful installation of the HDF3168 Frame and components.
1. Hammer Drill
2. 5/8" masonry drill bit
3. #2 Philips screw driver with minimum 8" shaft and magnetic tip
4. Socket set
5. 1/2" Torque wrench
6. Hand or electric saw with metal blade
For Raised Floor installations add:
7. 5/8" Hardened Steel Drill Bit
8. Plumb Bob and string
9. Universal step bit

Required Materials per Frame
The following materials are required for successful installation of the HDF3168 Frame and components.
(Listed materials are not included in Leviton provided HDF3168 products. Quantities below are the
minimum required and may vary depending on the actual mounting environment)
1. (4) 5/8" diameter 1/2" x 13 thread Hex Head Anchors
2. (4) 1/2" x 13 Thread Bolts (when direct to concrete slab)
3. 1/2" Threaded Rod (when mounted on Raised Access Floor)
4. (4) 1/2" Split Lock Washers
5. (4) 1/2" Fender Washers
6. (4) 1/2" x 13 Thread Nuts
7. Velcro Tie wraps (recommended bulk rolls – example Leviton #43115-075)

Leviton HDF3168 MDA Frame System Components
The System Components are:
A. MDA High Density Frame
The frame is an 84" high x 24" wide x 20.4" deep equipment frame designed to fit within a 24" x
24" space. The frame allows for the placement of any combination of up to 22 Patch decks,
Splice Decks, Cross Frame Routing Trays or Blank Plates. The frame can either be mounted
directly to the structural floor or on Raised Access Floor.
