Starting the watch
The MARINE ÉQUATION MARCHANTE 5887 is a self-
winding mechanical watch. When first starting your watch,
we recommend winding the watch manually to reach a
certain portion of the reserve, and then the self-winding
system will complete the power reserve while you are
wearing the watch.
Crown X in position X1. This position makes it possible
to manually wind the movement. Before manipulating
the watch, if it is stopped, wind the crown 20 or 30 times
by turning the crown X in a clockwise direction. Then,
by simply wearing the watch it will wind itself and
automatically achieve its full autonomy (when the hand
of the power reserve indicator F is at its highest). When
unworn, following a complete winding, the watch will stop
after about 80 hours.
Your MARINE ÉQUATION MARCHANTE 5887 is
!
guaranteed to be water-resistant to 10 bar (100m),
as long as the crown is in position X1.
Setting the time
To set the watch following a change in time zone, daylight
savings, or any other hour change not requiring a date
correction, please follow the procedure below. If the date
must also be corrected, please refer to the instructions
under «Setting the date».
Place the crown X into position X2, then turn the crown
clockwise or counterclockwise to move the hands forward
or backward to the desired hour. Then re-set the crown
X into position X1. Once you have done this, turn the
crown X once in a counterclockwise direction to ensure it
turns smoothly.
Pay attention to whether the hour is before or after
!
noon. We recommend not passing midnight in the
counterclockwise direction. To set a precise time,
be sure that the final rotation is conducted in the
clockwise direction.
If the watch is turned past midnight and the indicated date
is no longer correct, follow the instructions under «Setting
the date».
