35. Remove and discard all packaging materials and potential
stickers or labels (except for the type plate) before using the
appliance for the first time.
36. Check your appliance before every use and make sure that the
appliance, the power cord and plug are undamaged.
37. To prevent electric shock, do not use the appliance if cord or
power plug are damaged or if the appliance has other faults,

has fallen down resp. is damaged in any other way or is leaking
water. Never attempt repairs yourself but take the appliance
to Solis or a service centre authorized by Solis in order to get it
inspected, repaired or mechanically and electrically maintained,
in order to avoid a hazard.
38. People with limited physical, sensorial or mental capabilities as
well as unknowing or inexperienced people and children must
not use the air humidifier except when supervised or thoroughly
instructed on how to use the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety. Additionally, they must be aware of the dangers
arising from the appliance and know how to operate it safely.
Cleaning and maintenance of the appliance must not be done
by unsupervised children. Under no circumstances must the
appliance be used or cleaned by children under the age of 8.
The appliance and its power cord have to kept away from chil-
dren under the age of 8.
39. Always keep the appliance and the power cord out of the
reach of children and pets during use. Always store it out of
the reach of children.
40. Children must be supervised, so that they do not play with the
air humidifier.
41. Careful supervision is required when the appliance is used by
children (older than the age of 8) or in their vicinity.

IN WATER OR ALLOW MOISTURE TO COME IN CONTACT

42. The air flow of the appliance must never be pointed toward
babies, small children or elderly resp. ill persons.
43. The appliance switches off automatically if the water tub is
almost empty and the tank has to be refilled.
44. Always switch the appliance off before pulling the plug, oth-
erwise the appliance might be damaged.
45. The water tank must always be correctly placed in the appli-
ance and on the water tub. Do not place anything on the
appliance while it is in use or in storage.
46. Pull the plug after every use. Only then, the appliance is fully
switched off.
47. When not using the appliance for prolonged periods of time,
always pour out the remaining water and also let it dry on the
inside. Best store the appliance in a dark, cool place with good
air circulation.
48. The appliance has to be cleaned regularly. Please refer to the
notes given in the section "Cleaning and maintenance" on
page 108 of this manual.
49. Only clean the appliance chassis with a dry or slightly moist
cloth. Never use aggressive, abrasive or acidic detergents for
cleaning.
50. When lifting or moving the appliance, always grab the air
humidifier by its base. Always switch the appliance off, pull
the power plug and empty out the water before doing that.
Be very careful when moving the appliance and never shake or
throw it, it might be damaged and spring a leak. Also, water
might spill out of the appliance.
51. Should you notice a strange smell or sound, switch the appli-
ance off and pull the plug. Do not start using it again before
having its functionality and safety checked by Solis or a service
centre authorised by Solis.
