2. Instructions for use - Tooth Grinding Machine for piglets 12-18 Volt
Why grind teeth?
The teeth of sucking pigs are sharp and pointed and can easily damage the sow's udder and teats. To protect the sow's udder and also to ensure
calm and harmonious suckling it used to be customary to cut the teeth of sucking pigs. This also prevented bite injuries to the rest of the
litter. Tooth cutting is a painful procedure for a sucking pig. When they are cut with a pair of tooth-nippers, even if the tooth is cut correctly,
vertical cracks can easily occur in the dental enamel and the pulp of the tooth (nerves. blood vessels, connective tissue) becomes exposed.
The cracks constitute a very high risk of future infection for the pigs. In many cases these infections are not discovered until slaughter.
The alternative is tooth-grinding!
The tooth-grinding machine makes work easier, reduces considerably the risk of infection and is kinder to the piglet. Just a little pressure from the
grinding machine removes the tip and sharp edges of the tooth. This protects the sow from being bitten and gives the little pigs a good
start.
Assembly/Disassembly of the Grinding Bodv
Pull the mains plug out before changing tolls. Never press the locking pin while the machine is running. 1. Turn the spigot nut gently while
pressing the locking pin until it engages. 2. Open the clamping jaw and change the tool. Clamp all tools as short as possible. Shafts, which
protrude too far will easily bend causing the machine to vibrate. As next, screw on the protective aluminium cap. The grinding body must not
stand out over the protective aluminium cap. If this happens, the grinding body has to he loosened again, the pen inserted deeper into the
device and locked again. Do not work without wearing protective goggles. Do not work with damaged grinding discs or deformed shafts. If the
unit overheats, switch it off and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
