8.1 Working with the IRmax

The IR Display shows other messages that provide useful information about the IRmax
to which it is connected

8.2 Operational messages

Meaning
May occur when the instrument is
establishing connection when first
connected to an IRmax.
IRmax may not be able to connect
with display because it is absent or
has a fault; may show when search
for the IRmax as above fails.
The i-module in the IRmax is not
present or there is some other fault
preventing data from arriving at the
IR Display.
The software in the unit is too old
Meaning
The IRmax is not outputting a loop
current representative of the detected
gas level. Occurs when HART
communications initiates manual
mode.
The IRmax is not outputting a
loop current representative of the
detected gas level. Occurs when
HART communications initiates
inhibit mode.
Action required
Wait until progress
bar shows search is
completed.

Action required
None. IRmax will
automatically time
out of this mode
after 5 minutes
or use HART
