JUMP-STARTING YOUR CAR (12V)
NOTE: Read your car´s owner's manual! Some vehicle manufacturers have special requirements before
jumpstarting the vehicle (e.g. fuses that have to be removed or certain security demands). Some vehicles
manufacturers place the battery in the cargo area or trunk. These vehicles often have designated jump-
start terminals.
Attention: Always follow the specific order to reduce of the risk fire and explosion.
Connect the SC1600A to the vehicle´s battery and prepare the device as described. Make sure the
supercapacitor is charged and the LCD display shows "JUMP START READY" (wait 10 seconds before
operation).
-
Connect the red battery clamp to the vehicle's battery positive (+) terminal and connect the
black battery clamp to the vehicle's battery negative (-) terminal. Make sure the clamps are tight
and there's no oxide or dirt on the vehicle battery's terminal.
-
Start your vehicle's engine. Do not operate the starter for longer than 6 seconds. If the jump
start fails, wait at least 3 minutes before another attempt. Always check the display of the
SC1600A. After three failed attempts to jump start the car, check your vehicle for other possible
faults and damages than a weak battery.
-
If the vehicle started, remove the jumper cables within 30 seconds. Disconnect the BLACK clamp
and then the RED clamp from the vehicle´s battery. Leave the vehicle's engine running.
If the device doesn't react when pressing the power-button (3), low voltage protection might be active
and the device has to be charged with the help of the 12V input or the 5V USB input. Please make sure
to regularly charge the internal backup-battery in order to keep the device in good condition and to be
able to use the device´s full functionality.
