4590 kan fungere i følgende to tilstande:
adaptertilstand
4590 er en håndholdt enhed, der kan fungere som adapter mel-
lem 4501 programmeringsfronten og nogle af modulerne i SYSTEM
3000. Hermed kan man konfigurere og monitorere procesparame-
trene i installerede moduler. Ved tryk på tænd-/slukknappen vises
batteriniveauet. 4590 detekterer automatisk, når den ikke er i brug
og lukker efterfølgende selv ned, så batterilevetiden forlænges.
Dockingtilstand
4590 kan fungere som docking station for 4501, hvilket giver mu-
lighed for at forbinde 4501 til en pc via et USB-interface. "PReset
softwaren" på pc'en kan benyttes til upload og download af konfigu-
rationsparametre i 4501. Når 4590 anvendes som docking station,
får den strøm fra pc'ens USB-forsyning.

operational modes
The 4590 can operate in the following modes:
adaptor mode
The 4590 is a handheld device that can operate as an adapter
between the 4501 programming front and a number of devices in
the 3000 series. This allows for configuration and monitoring of
process parameters of the installed devices. By pressing the power-
on button of the 4590, there is a visual indication of the battery
power status. The 4590 will automatically detect if it is not in use,
and will consequently shut itself down to conserve battery power.
Docking mode
The 4590 can operate as a docking station for the 4501 allowing
the 4501 to be connected to a PC through a USB interface. The
"PReset software" on the PC can be used to upload and download
the configuration parameters of the 4501. In docking station mode
the 4590 will be powered from the PC's USB power source.

Le 4590 peut fonctionner dans les deux modes suivants :
mode adaptateur
Le 4590 est un appareil portatif qui peut fonctionner comme
adaptateur entre la façade de programmation 4501 et des appareils
de la série 3000. Cela permet une configuration et visualisation
des paramètres de process de l'appareil installé. En actionnant le
bouton de mise en route du 4590, une indication visuelle donne
l'état de l'alimentation. Le 4590 détectera automatiquement une
non utilisation et s'éteindra afin de conserver l'énergie des piles.
mode station d'accueil
Le 4590 peut fonctionner comme station d'accueil pour le 4501,
autorisant la connexion du 4501 à un PC via un câble USB. Le
logiciel « PReset » installé sur le PC peut être utilisé pour charger
ou sauvegarder la configuration du 4501. En mode station d'accueil,
le 4590 est alimenté par l'interface USB.

Betriebsmodus
Das ConfigMate 4590 kann auf folgende Betriebsarten genutzt werden:
adapterbetrieb
Das 4590 ist ein tragbares Gerät, das als Adapter zwischen dem Pro-
grammierdisplay 4501 und einer Reihe von Geräten der 3000-Serie
fungiert. Dies ermöglicht die direkte Konfiguration und Überwachung
von Prozessparametern der installierten Geräte. Durch Drücken der
Power-Taste des 4590 erhält man eine visuelle Anzeige des Lade-
zustandes der Batterien. Das 4590 erkennt automatisch, wenn es
nicht in Gebrauch ist und schaltet sich ab, um die Batterie zu schonen.
aufsteckbetrieb
Das ConfigMate 4590 kann als Docking-Station für das Program-
mierdisplay 4501 verwendet werden. Dadurch ist es möglich, das
4501 über eine USB-Schnittstelle an einen PC anzuschließen. Die
auf dem PC installierte "PReset"-Software ermöglicht einen Up-
und Download der jeweiligen Konfigurationsparameter des 4501.
Im Dockingstation-Modus wird das 4590 über den USB-Port des
Computers versorgt.
