5 Help with malfunctions

When rectifying faults, it is essential to observe section 2 / 3.5. Spare parts must be ordered with all the
information on the nameplate. Only original parts from the manufacturer Aquasant® may be installed.

6 Service and maintenance

Check the tightness of the closed valve when inserting the new silicone hose.
Run several switching cycles with the SQV, the piston movement must not make any scratching noises.
After 100'000 switching cycles or annually, the valve should be serviced, the mechanical seal replaced and,
depending on the seal type (see type code) for NBR mechanical seal, greased exclusively with Fin Food Grease
EP (FDA) and especially for EPDM mechanical seal with type 2 silicone grease (e.g. from diamond). Lightly
grease the two guide surfaces in the SQV cylinder bore.

6.1 Service

The hose pinch valve is revised at regular intervals. During this process, all mechanical seals and the spring are
replaced. The revision kit, art. no.: 04.04.25.002, consists of seal kit, spring, nut and grease.
6.1.1

Disassembling the spring housing

1. unscrew spring housing from piston housing
2. pull out the piston rod
3. loosen the 6 Kt nut M6 (attention: is secured with Loctite 243)
4. remove the sleeve carrier, piston cover and seal rings (piston cover and sleeve carrier are siliconized on
the piston rod)
Measures
Open headpiece and check and replace silicone tube. If necessary, check
hose dimension. Silicone hoses should be replaced after approx. 10'000
switching cycles.
Check hose dimension and specification Shore hardness, match with
technical data SQV®.
Primary medium pressure is too high
Pressure spring defective due to fatigue fracture, see maintenance or send
the valve to the manufacturer for repair
Increase control pressure of air supply max. 6 bar
hose dimension too large, wall thickness
Mechanical seal defective, see maintenance or send the valve to the
manufacturer for repair
Change hose connection fitting 4/6 or push-in
