Safety regulations and installer and user's obligations
1. SAFETY REGULATIONS AND INSTALLER'S OBLIGATIONS
In order to ensure all safety regulations are satisfi ed, when working:
• Wear regulation protective clothing (safety shoes, protective goggles, gloves and helmet);
• Do not wear any clothes that may become entangled (ties, bracelets, necklaces, etc.).
Electro-mechanical barriers must be installed in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws, standards
and regulations.
Before carrying out the installation procedure, offi cially qualifi ed personnel must carry out a hazard assessment
of the installation site in accordance with the regulations covering motorised barriers (in ITALY consult UNI-EN
13241-1).
• Installation must be carried out by professionally qualifi ed personnel.
• Installation, electrical connections and any adjustments must be carried out in accordance with the applicable laws
and regulations.
• Read the instructions carefully before proceeding with the installation.
• If the barrier is not installed correctly it can be dangerous.
• The packaging must be disposed of in accordance with the applicable regulations and not discarded in the
environment.
• Before proceeding with the installation, check that the product and the packaging are free from damage.
• Do not install the product in areas where there is a risk of explosions: the presence of gases, dusts or infl ammable
fumes can cause safety hazards.
• Check that all the safety seals are present and that all the areas where there is a risk of crushing, cutting, entangling
or any other kind of hazard are guarded or protected in accordance with the safety regulations covering motorised
barriers.
• Isolate the installation area in order to ensure that no unauthorised persons can access it.
• The safety devices must be installed after a hazard analysis has been carried out on the installation site, they must be
properly identifi ed and work in accordance with the applicable regulations.
• The information required by the regulations must be displayed clearly at each installation site.
• Before connecting the barrier to the mains, ensure that the available supply is compatible with the rating indicated on
the data label.
Ensure that a correctly-rated thermo-magnetic differential breaker switch is fi tted upstream of the installation.
• The manufacturer of the drive system declines any responsibility if any components are used that are incompatible
with correct and safe operation.
• The installer must provide the user with all the necessary information for operating the motorised barrier, paying particular
attention to the emergency manual procedures and to any residual hazards.
2. INFORMATION FOR THE USER
• The following warnings and indications are an essential and integral part of the product. They must be delivered to the
user and be read carefully as they contain important information about use and maintenance. These instructions must
be kept and handed over to any future user.
• This motorised barrier must only be used for the intended purpose. Any other use is unauthorised and may be
hazardous.
• Do not loiter near the mechanical parts or the barrier when in motion. Do not approach the barrier when it is moving.
Do not attempt to obstruct the barrier when it is moving as it can be hazardous.
• Do not allow children to play or loiter near the barrier.
• Keep the remote control and any other activation device in a safe place so that they cannot be operated involuntarily
by children or by unauthorised persons.
• In case of fault or abnormal operation, disconnect the barrier power supply by opening the main power switch. Do not
attempt to adjust or repair the unit; contact the technician who installed the barrier, or another specialised installer. Failure
to observe these indications may result in hazardous situations.
• All repair or maintenance operations, including cleaning the drive system, must be carried out by qualifi ed persons only.
