3 Function
„ The device has a polycentric design comprising pivots connecting a chassis
to a main body via 4 link arms. A hydraulic knee control sits within this frame
assembly, fitted between the rear proximal axis and a pivot distally within the
anterior link arms above the lower anterior pivot.
„ The geometry of the device provides efficient progression into swing phase at
the required point in the gait cycle, 18 mm of increased toe clearance during the
swing phase when compared to a single axis knee and short protrusion when
sitting.
„ The device has dual stance control combining the polycentric geometrical
variable instantaneous centre of rotation with an adjustable hydraulic yielding
support, initiated at knee extension prior to heel strike and released by an
extension moment at toe off. The KX06-Swing version provides only geometric
stability during stance.
„ Both versions of the device provide an adjustable hydraulic swing phase control
to accommodate variable cadence.
