Power supply
Attention!
For safety and reliability,
operate this model with LGB transformer
only (min. driving current 1 A). The use
of non-LGB transformers will void your
warranty.
Note:

Catenary power supply
Wiring diagram (Fig. 2)
Attention!
This model may be powered
with a catenary on analog layouts only!
For digital operation, the vehicle must
use track power. Otherwise dangerously
high voltages may result.
This locomotive may be powered via the
LGB-catenary (see modes of operation).
The bottom of the model is marked
with a red dot. Place the model on the
track with the red dot pointing to the rail
that is not connected to the catenary-
transformer.
Note:
In order to operate several trains on the
same track, we recommend the LGB-
multi train system. For this purpose the
model can be upgraded with an MZS-
Loco-Decoder III
With the multi-train system you can
use an unpowered catenary system for
proprotypical appearance.
Operation
Attention!
Do not connect this model to
other loco models with different starting
characteristics. This can damage the
internal gearing.
Operating modes
The model has two operating mode
selectors in the cab (Fig. 1).

The upper, two-stage operating mode
selector permits you to select whether
the model should be operated with track
power or with power from the catenary
system(Fig. 1):
Pos. U: Track power
Pos. O: Catenary operation
on
LGB
Attention!
The four-way operating mode selector
in the cab (Fig. 3) allows selection of the
following:
Pos. 0: All power off
Pos. 1: Power to lights
Pos. 2: Power to motors and lights
Pos. 3: Power to motors and lights
Lighting
The head light of the loco changes
according to its direction of travel: Three
white lights on the front, two red lights
on the rear.
Multi-purpose socket
The loco has one each multi-purpose
socket for fl at plugs at the front and
rear end (Fig. 4).
Function:
This socket can be used to provide track
power to LGB coaches with lighting or
sound electronics.

For this purpose, gently remove the
cover of the socket using a small
straight screwdriver to pry it out.

Function:
- This enables the connection of
compatible digital decoders.
- We recommend to use MTS Loco
Decoder III
