Safety instructions
It is important to ensure that unauthorized persons, children and animals do not have access to
the equipment, especially during its
operation.
The conditions at the delivery of the device must not be changed. Upon failure to observe this
condition, the EC declaration of conformity, the warranty and the product liability are waived.
Safety devices may not be removed or rendered inoperative.
Although the devices are built from shock-resistant components to a large extent, strong
shocks and external damages should be avoided.
Before using the equipment, the usual checks for obvious damage must always be carried out to
prevent harm to persons or damage to the equipment. Identified problems must be removed and
defective parts must be replaced immediately. Also, make sure that the equipment is clean
before use. Damage to the spindles, back-pressure screws and hydraulic cylinders must be
avoided.
Use the equipment exclusively for the provisional shutting off of HDPE pipes. If it is attempted
to use with other types of pipes, the pipes might be destroyed and the equipment may be
damaged.
The devices may be used and installed outdoors, protected from rain and
moisture.
Squeezing may be performed on temperatures above +5 °C . At temperatures below +5 °C,
special measures are
required.
The grade of squeezing, respectively the distance shims must comply with the
recommendations contained in the GW 332*. We recommend following the recommendations in
GW 332* for the application, limitations and other measures as
well.
The equipment can be operated in both vertical and horizontal position. However, you must
ensure that the devices are set in such a way as to allow the unhindered flow of the hydraulic oil
into the pumping device.
The equipment is not protected against explosion and may under no circumstances be
operated in environments that require such explosion protection. Otherwise, there is danger of
explosion.
The equipment may only be transported in perfect condition. Only then is it guaranteed that the
lower pinch pipes are fixed into the device and will not fall out during transport. This risk exists in
spite of the securing tabs on the lower cross tubes. Always secure the upper pinch pipes
additionally by tightening the back pressure
screws.
Prior to operation of the equipment, get informed about the valid standards, regulations or
recommendations from your clients, suppliers or other competent
organizations/associations/agencies/institutes etc.
