SOLUTION
Check for contamination in alarm
chamber on QuickCheck Station
and in Altair 4 Detector;
clean as needed
Press instrument TEST button; if no
sound occurs during alarm check,
contact MSA for replacement
Press instrument TEST button;
if LEDs are nonfunctional,
contact MSA for replacement
Check pressure gage on
calibration cylinder
Calibrate instrument
per MSA recommendations
Verify tubing is fully connected to
QuickCheck Station fitting
Clean gas delivery outlet
Check for blockage and
remove if necessary
Verify that calibration cylinder
is the same gas type
as the Altair 4 instrument
cylinder for proper concentration
Ensure regulator is opened or turned
