11. Operation
a) The active switch of the amplifier
The amplifier is equipped with an active switch which enables a high-pass or a low-pass filter to be switched for the
individual amplifier branches (CH1/CH2 and CH3/CH4).
The separating frequencies can be adjusted continuously.
The switches X OVER SELECT (3) influence the active switches for the amplifier branch CH1/CH2 or CH3/CH4:
•
HP
High-pass duplexer switched on, the amplifier branch only plays back the frequency range above the frequency set
via the HP ADJUST (5) control unit.
•
FULL
If the active switch is switched off, the amplifier branch plays back the complete frequency range
•
LP
Low-pass duplexer switched on, the amplifier branch only plays back the frequency range below the frequency set
via the LP ADJUST control unit (4).
b) The bass boost switch of the amplifier
The amplifier possesses a bass-boost circuit for each amplifier branch CH1/CH2 or CH3/CH4 which amplifies the
deep-base frequencies in the 0-12 dB range.
This option is especially useful to give smaller bass loudspeakers or subwoofers a little more volume in the low-bass
range.
Amplification is set by means of the BASS BOOST (6) controls:
•
Position 0dB
No amplification
•
Position 12dB
Low bass is amplified by 12dB
c) First operation
Having made the connection and after checking the cabling once again, you can put the Crunch Fat Boy Power
Package into operation.
