7. Mechanical installation
Modifications to the vehicle which become necessary through installation of the amplifier, the
loudspeakers or other components always have to be carried out in such a manner that neither
the traffic safety nor the designed stability of the car is impaired. With many cars, the type
approval will lapse if you merely saw out a section of the sheet metal.
If you are in doubt when selecting a place for installation, consult your car dealer.
Since the amplifier generates heat, the place of installation must be insensitive towards heat.
To ensure adequate ventilation, there must be an open area around the housing of 5 cm. Apart
from this, the air circulation may not be obstructed by objects such as magazines, blankets,
covers or similar.
Make sure before drilling the attachment holes that no electric cables, brake lines, the fuel tank
or similar are damaged.
When using tools to install your car hi-fi components, observe the manufacturer's safety
instructions.
When installing the car hi-fi system, take into consideration the risk of accident which can arise
from devices being torn away in the case of an accident. Therefore, you should secure every
component in a place where it cannot be dangerous to passengers.
Mount the subwoofer and the loudspeakers at a place at which the lighting (flashing) does not
irritate you or other motorists while driving. Therefore, the illumination may not be visible from
the driver's seat and the outside.
