10. Connecting the amplifier outputs
a) Connecting the speaker inputs
The car amplifier possesses outputs for 4 loudspeakers.
Each of the 2 loudspeaker outputs can also be used in mono-bridge mode. In fact, only one loudspeaker is powered
in this mode, however the available output voltage is significantly higher.
The satellite loudspeakers are connected in stereo mode, the subwoofer in mono bridge mode (3-channel mode).
The line towards the loudspeakers must be a bifilar cable. Insulate the bare wires at the
connecting terminals. Make sure that there are no sharp edges which could damage the cables.
Only use loudspeakers which have a sufficiently high loading capacity (see "Technical Data").
Make sure that the loudspeakers have been connected with the correct polarity, i.e. plus and
minus signs agree!
The amplifier has been designed for a loudspeaker impedance of at least 2 ohms (stereo mode)
or 4 ohms (mono-bridge mode). Never connect loudspeakers with a lower impedance.
•
Slide the switch MODE SELECT (2) to the position 3.
Position 2 for 2-channel operation
Position 3 for 3-channel operation
Position 4 for 4-channel operation
•
Connect the loudspeaker connections of the satellite loudspeakers (marked with "SPEAKER INPUT TERMI-
NALS – Audio Connection Only") to the connection SPEAKER OUTPUT CH1/CH2 (10) on the amplifier.
The positive poles of the satellite loudspeakers are marked by large blade-type tongues, the negative ones by
small ones.
Positive pole of the left satellite loudspeaker > connection CH1+
Negative pole of the left satellite loudspeaker > connection CH1-
Positive pole of the right satellite loudspeaker > connection CH2+
Negative pole of the right satellite loudspeaker > connection CH2-
•
Connect the loudspeaker of the subwoofer to the connection SPEAKER OUTPUT CH3/CH4 (10) on the amplifier.
Connection (+) of the subwoofer (red terminal) > connection CH4 +
Connection (-) of the subwoofer (black terminal) > connection CH3-
