3 Applications

The stereo digital reverb unit has been developed
for the professional use to mix reverberation to an
instrument, a vocal sound or any audio source. Fur-
thermore delay or special effects can be used to
produce additional acoustic effects for the most dif-
ferent applications.
4 Installation
The digital reverb unit has especially been design-
ed for the installation into a 19" rack. If required, it
can also be used as a free standing unit. For the
rack installation a height of 1 rack space is neces-
sary.

5 Connection of the Unit

5.1 Inputs and Outputs

According to application the digital reverb unit is
connected between the instrument and the ampli-
fier or the microphone and the amplifier or it is in-
serted into a mixing console via the send/return
jacks.
The MIC and LINE input jacks as well as the
OUTPUT jacks are at the front panel as well as at
the rear panel. The output jacks are connected in
parallel and can be used at the same time. If a front
input jack is used, by this the corresponding rear
input jack is switched off. In case of connection of
an input signal at both panels, the front input has
priority.
For mono operation also
connected to the stereo line inputs and stereo out-
puts. A microphone can optionally be connected in
a balanced (

" stereo plug) or unbalanced (

mono plug) way.
Connection to a mixing console
The stereo digital reverb unit can be inserted into
an individual channel or an output channel of a
mixing console according to requirement and faci-
lity.
Connect the line input jack (11) or (29) with the
corresponding send jack at the mixing console and
the OUTPUT jack (20) or (28) with the correspond-
ing return jack at the mixing console. If the
send/return connections of the mixing console are
1/4" mono jacks (as with most mixing consoles),
connect the digital reverb unit via suitable Y cables
(e. g. MONACOR MCA-202).

Connection between instrument and amplifier
or microphone and amplifier
Connect a microphone to the MIC jack (10/30) or
an instrument to the LINE jack (11/29) resp.
connect both inputs for mixing. Connect the line
input of the amplifier to the OUTPUT jack (20/28).
If the amplifier input is equipped with two
jacks, use a suitable Y cable (e. g. MONACOR
MCA-202).

5.2 Foot Switch

The selected effect can be switched on and off with
a foot switch (e. g. MONACOR FS-60 A) as a
remote control (e. g. by a musician). For this the
EFFECT switch (19) at the digital reverb unit must
not be depressed as otherwise the effect is always
switched on. The foot switch is connected via a
plug at the FOOTSWITCH jack (21).

5.3 Mains Connection and Grounding
In every amplification system there should be a com-
mon ground which is grounded at a special point. In
general for this the preamplifier chassis is chosen.
To avoid hum loops, the digital reverb unit is provid-
ed with a ground lift switch (26). In LIFT position the
signal ground can be separated from the housing if
there is already another grounding point.
At last connect the digital reverb unit via the
enclosed cable to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).

6 Operation
6.1 Basic Adjustment of Output Level
To obtain an output signal, for the left and right
channels a DIP switch (27) each must be shifted
downwards. As a basic adjustment 0 dB is recom-
mended. If the following unit is overdriven by this,
adjust -20 dB resp. -40 dB.
6.2 Adjustment of Input Level
With the level control MIC (14) or LINE (15) resp.
for mixing with both controls adjust the input level
according to the left VU meter LEDs (5) in an opti-
mum way. As this VU meter also indicates the out-
put of the effect processor, the level indication may
change while switching over to another effect. The
input level must then be corrected accordingly.
