5 Functional Description
6 Putting into operation
6.1 Equipping the TIG welding torches
The TIG welding torch is part of a welding system. In combination with
appropriate operating resources, the arc is used for welding. In TIG welding,
a tungsten electrode and an inert gas are used. The molten pool and the arc
are protected by the inert gas from atmospheric interferences. The electrode
holder or gas diffuser is used to transmit current to the tungsten electrode. The
ignition of the arc depends on the type of power supply and will therefore not
be described any further. The hose assembly serves as supply line and
included the connection elements.
DANGER
Risk of injury due to unexpected start-up.
The following instructions must be adhered to throughout all maintenance,
servicing, assembly, disassembly and repair work:
• Switch off the power supply.
• Cut off the gas supply.
• Pull the mains plug.
NOTICE
• Please take note of the following instructions:
3 Product Description on page EN-8
