How to Make Coffee
7. Place the stem assembly, spring side up, into the
tank. Place the basket on the stem. Make sure
the stem is properly seated in the heat well in the
center or the urn may not percolate.
8. Place the lid on the body of the urn so that the
locking tabs are at the front and back of the urn.
9. Holding the knob, turn the lid clockwise until
the locking tabs are fully engaged inside the
fold-down handles on both sides of the urn.
Make sure that the lid logo is facing forward.
10. Plug in the urn. Push the ON (I)/OFF (O) switch
to the ON (I) position. The red ON indicator light
will illuminate and coffee will begin brewing
within minutes. Do not plug in the urn when
there is no water or liquid inside.
11. When the brewing cycle is complete, percolation

indicate the coffee is ready to serve.

13. The urn will automatically switch to the Keep
Warm cycle and will maintain fresh, hot coffee
until it is unplugged or switched to the ON (I)/
OFF (O) position. If brewed coffee is to be kept
warm for a long period of time, the basket and
stem should be removed as soon as brewing is
complete. This will prevent bitter oils in the coffee
grounds from affecting the fl avor of the coffee.
Burn Hazard: The knob and metal
w CAUTION
urn parts will be hot. Use a pot holder or oven
mitt to remove the lid, basket, and stem.
14. After coffee has been dispensed, or when
you want to clean urn, push the ON (I)/OFF
(O) switch to the OFF (O) position. Disconnect
plug from wall outlet and allow the urn to cool
before washing.
NOTES:
• To make additional coffee, rinse the lid, coffee
basket, stem, and tank with cold water and repeat
steps 1 through 11.
• To reheat coffee, remove the basket and stem.
Lock the lid in place, plug in the unit, and turn on
for 20 to 60 minutes, depending on the amount
of coffee remaining. Do not reheat if less than 20
cups are left in the urn.
