EFFICIENCY, POWER, IMPEDANCE
The technical parameters of headphones vary extremely. The impedances can be from 16 ohm up to
600 Ohm. A headphone with lower impedance -with identical efficiency (same volume at same input
power)- results in higher current at lower voltage. Headphones with a higher impedance (300 Ohm or
more) need a higher voltage and consume lower current.
Mobile devices like smartphones or tablets can only supply low voltages which results in low volume using
a heaphone with high impedance.
The KHV-200 is designed to be able to control almost all available headphones in the market with highest
sound quality. Even critical headphones work perfect together with the KHV-200. For the use of high-end
headphones we recommend using the 4 pin XLR connector on backside of the device if available.
For headphones with high impedance or low efficiency the KHV-200 offers the possibility to adjust the
amplification. For that you can use the button "Gain (11)" on backside of the device and use the setting
"High" (0dB).
