the drill. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may
result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "drill" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated
(corded) drill or battery-operated (cordless) drill.
Powerful magnet!
Persons with cardiac pacemakers or oth-
er medicinal implants may not use this
drill stand.
Carrying along metal parts and watches
is prohibited.
Pull the plug from the socket outlet and/or remove the
battery before carrying out adjustments on the power
tool or replacing accessory parts. Unintentional starting
of drills is the cause of some accidents.
Assemble the drill stand properly before mounting the
drill. The correct assembly is important in order to ensure
proper function.
Before using, fasten the drill securely to the drill stand.
An unsecured drill in the drill stand can lead to loss of con-
trol.
The power tool should always be carried by two per-
sons in order to avoid back injuries.
When using the drill stand for overhead applications,
two persons are always required.
When drilling overhead or on surfaces that are not hor-
izontal, secure the drill stand with a safety chain. In
case of a power failure or excessive load, the holding force
of the magnet is not maintained. The drill stand can fall
down and cause accidents.
Danger of the drill stand falling down due to sudden
pendular motion of the drill stand. When working on a
scaffold, the drill stand can be subject to a sudden pendu-
lar motion when the drill starts or in case of a power failure.
Secure the drill stand with the provided safety chain. Se-
cure yourself against falling down by applying a safety
rope/belt.
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at
all times. This enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.
Connect the drill stand to a properly earthed mains
supply. The socket outlet and the extension cable must be
equipped with an operative protective conductor.
Keep the connection cable of the drill away from the
working area. Damaged or entangled cables increase the
risk of an electric shock.
The surface must be smooth and clean. Smooth out
coarse irregularities, e. g., welding spatter and remove

loose rust, dirt and grease. The holding force of the mag-
net applies only for appropriate surfaces.
Maintain the drill stand with care. Check for misalign-
ment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and
any other condition that may affect the function of the
drill stand. Have damaged parts repaired before using
the drill stand. Many accidents are caused by poorly main-
tained devices.
Have your drill stand serviced/repaired only by a quali-
fied repair person using original replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the device is maintained.
The safety warnings and working instructions for the
drill as well as for the drilling tools and accessories be-
ing used are to be strictly observed!
Products sold in GB only: Your product is fitted with a
BS 1363/A approved electric plug with internal fuse (ASTA
approved to BS 1362).
If the plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be
cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place by an author-
ised customer service agent. The replacement plug should
have the same fuse rating as the original plug.
The severed plug must be disposed of to avoid a possible
shock hazard and should never be inserted into a mains sock-
et elsewhere.
Products sold in AUS and NZ only: Use a residual current de-
vice (RCD) with a rated residual current of 30 mA or less.
Product Description and Specifica-
tions
Read all safety warnings and all instruc-
tions. Failure to follow the warnings and in-
structions may result in electric shock, fire
and/or serious injury.
While reading the operating instructions, unfold the fold-out
page with the illustration of the drill stand and leave it open.
Intended Use
In conjunction with the GBM 32-4 rotary drill, the drill stand is
intended for drilling precise holes in magnetizable materials,
such as steel.
Other drills may not be used, as these cannot be fastened suf-
ficiently safe.
The drill stand can be used horizontal and vertical as well as
overhead. Pay attention that the clamping surface is flat, cor-
responds at least with the base surface of the drill stand and
that the material surface is at least 8 mm thick, magnetizable
and clean.
