Maintenance Items
Check pump lubricant level
Check pump lubricant quality (for discoloration or
contamination)
Check for pump lubricant leaks - inspect oil seals,
drain plug, oil plug, sight glass
Check for water leaks under manifold, into crankcase
Plumbing
Change pump lubricant
Change pump seals
Clean engine and check nuts and bolts
Check and refill engine lubricant
Change engine lubricant (initial change)
Change engine lubricant
Clean spark plug
Clean air filter
Replace air filter element
Clean and adjust spark plug and electrodes
Replace spark plug
1 If other than Cat Pumps special formula premium grade ISO68 hydraulic lubricant is used, change cycle should be
every 300 hours.
2 Initial lubricant change should be performed after first 20 hours of operation. Thereafter, change lubricant every 100 hours.
NOTE: If you are not sure how to perform any of the maintenance items listed above, take the unit to an authorized
service center to have the maintenance item performed.
TROUBLEShOOTING
PROBLEM
Engine fails to start

CAUSE
Engine switch is in OFF position.
Fuel valve lever is off.
No fuel in tank.
Water pressure in hose.
Spark plug shorted or fouled.
Spark plug is broken (cracked porcelain or
electrodes broken).
Ignition lead wire shorted, broken, or discon-
nected from spark plug.
Ignition inoperative.
Lubricant level is too low.
Lubricant level is too high.

Move switch to start.
Move the lever to ON.
Fill tank.
Squeeze trigger to relieve water pressure.
Replace spark plug.
Replace spark plug.
