Training
• Carefully read the instructions for use.
Familiarise yourself with the operating
elements and the correct use of the
machine.
• Never allow children or other persons not
acquainted with the instructions for use to
use the lawnmower. Local regulations
may specify the minimum age of the user.
• Never work when persons, especially chil-
dren and animals, are close by.
• Remember that the operator or the user is
responsible for accidents involving other
persons or damage to their property.
Preparatory actions
• Always operate the machine wearing
sturdy shoes and long trousers. Do not
operate the product in your bare feet or
while wearing sandals. Avoid wearing
loose clothing or clothing with hanging
ties or belts.
• Check the terrain on which the machine is
to be used and remove any objects that
could be taken up flung away by the
machine.
• Petrol is highly inflammable!
– Only store petrol in containers fit for the
purpose.
– Only refuel outdoors and do not smoke
during the refuelling process.
– Petrol must be topped up before the
motor is started. Do not open the petrol
cap or refill with petrol while the motor is
running or the lawnmower is hot.
– Never attempt to start the motor if petrol
has been spilt. Instead, move the
machine away from the contaminated
area. Avoid all attempts to start the
motor until the petrol vapours have
evaporated.
– For safety reasons the petrol tank and
other petrol caps are to be replaced in
case of damage.

• Replace defective sound absorbers.
• Before use, you must always perform a
visual inspection as to whether the cutting
blade, fastening bolt, and entire cutting
unit are worn or damaged. To prevent
unbalance, worn or damaged cutting
blades and fixing bolts may only be
replaced in sets. Worn or damaged
notices must be replaced.
• In case case of machines with several
cutting blades, please note that the move-
ment of a cutting blade can lead to rota-
tions of the other cutting blades.
Handling
• Do not run the combustion motor in
enclosed spaces in which dangerous car-
bon monoxide can collect.
• Only work in daylight or with adequate
lighting.
• If possible, avoid using the machine when
the grass is wet.
• Always ensure good stability on slopes.
• Only operate the machine at walking
speed.
• Always work across slopes, never up or
down the slope.
• Be especially vigilant when changing
direction on slopes.
• Never work on extremely steep slopes.
• Be especially vigilant when turning or pull-
ing the lawnmower towards you.
• Stop the cutting blade(s) when the lawn-
mower has to be tipped for transport to
another area of the grass and when the
lawnmower is being moved to and from
the area being mowed.
• Never use the lawnmower with a dam-
aged protective device or protective
grilles or without attached protective
devices such as baffle plates and/or grass
catchers.
• Do not modify the control settings of the
motor and do not over-rev it.
• Release the motor brake before starting
the motor.
• Start or press the starter switch carefully
according to the manufacturer's instruc-
tions. Ensure you are standing at an ade-
quate distance from the cutting blade(s).
• When starting the motor, you must not tip
the lawnmower unless it has to be lifted
during the procedure. In this case, tip it
only as far as absolutely necessary and
only lift the side turned away from you.
