Maintenance and Service
WARNING
NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS. Do not open or disassemble the charger.
Incorrect re-assembly of the charger may result in an explosion, electric shock, or
fire. Contact a Briggs & Stratton Authorized Service Dealer.
NOTICE
Speak to an Authorized Service Dealer for all service instructions. Do not disassemble
the charger for inspection, maintenance, or repair. All service must be done by an
Authorized Battery Service Dealer. For an Authorized Battery Service Dealer near you,

Before you do equipment maintenance or servicing, you MUST do the steps that follow:
1.
Disconnect the charger from the vehicle or application battery.
2.
Disconnect the charger from AC power.
3.
Wait a minimum of two minutes.
4.
If the charger is attached to a solid surface, remove it.
5.
Move the charger to an area free from flammable materials, liquids and vapors.
Charger Inspection
Examine the charger for damage. If the enclosure of the charger has damage, do not
use the charger. If the terminals of the charger have damage, are bent or are missing,
do not use the charger. Speak to an Authorized Battery Service Dealer for instructions.
Safety and Handling Procedures
WARNING
The battery has a risk of high short circuit current.
•
Remove watches, rings, or other metal objects.
•
Wear safety glasses or approved eye protection when you work near the battery.
•
Use tools that have insulated handles.
•
Do not put tools or metal parts on top of batteries.

WARNING
When you move the battery, do not touch the external terminals. Contact could
cause a short circuit and result in a fire or explosion.
WARNING
Do not disassemble the charger. Incorrect re-assembly of the charger may result
in an explosion, electric shock, or fire. Contact a Briggs & Stratton Authorized
Service Dealer.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock. Connect charger only to a single-phase, properly grounded
(3-wire) outlet.
WARNING
Do not operate the charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or
otherwise damaged. Contact a Briggs & Stratton Authorized Service Dealer.
WARNING
Do not install the charger on or near flammable materials. Position the charger on
a foundation of stone, brick, concrete or grounded metal.
WARNING
Do not use the charger if it has been submerged in water or water goes into the
charger and battery connectors. Contact an Authorized Battery Service Dealer for
instructions.
Clean the Charger – 3000W
NOTICE DO NOT use water to clean the charger. Water can damage the connections
and the charger.
NOTICE DO NOT use harsh chemicals or powdered abrasives to clean the charger.
Use a clean, dry, lint-free cloth, to clean any dust and debris from the charger, fan
enclosure and connections. Clean more frequently if it is in a dusty location.
Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
If the charger fails to turn on, check the items that follow:
1.
Make sure the AC power cord is connected correctly to an applicable live AC
outlet.
2.
Make sure the battery is fully connected to the battery.
3.
The battery voltage is already at full charge.
4.
The battery voltage is too low and cannot be charged. You will need to speak
to an Authorized Battery Service Dealer for instructions.
If the charger turns off before the battery is fully charged, check the items that follow:
1.
Check the display status for a fault condition. See Alarms section.
2.
The AC power was interrupted during the charge cycle. Check AC power cord
connections and AC outlet.
3.
The battery was disconnected during the charge cycle. Connect the battery
and make sure that the battery connections are correct.
If decreased equipment operation time or range is noticed, check the items that follow:
1.
The battery is not fully charged before the equipment is used. Charge fully and
test.
2.
Normal wear-out pattern of the battery.
3.
Battery is at the end of its lifespan. Replace battery with new one and test.
If the charge cycle operates longer than usual, check the items that follow:
1.
The battery is at very low charge. Leave the battery connected for a full charge.
2.
The amp-hour capacity of the battery is greater than the capacity of the charger
and cannot fully charge the battery in the usual time.
